Chapter 4 Christmas Gift
"Is it possible?" Snape asked in surprise.
The magic wand is equivalent to half of a person's body. Except for very close people, the magic wand is generally not allowed to be touched by other people.
"of course can."
Jiang Li placed the wand in Snape's palm and said, "But this wand is made according to my own preferences, so it may not be so easy for you to use."
In fact, she doesn't even need a wand to mobilize the magic power in her body, but some more sophisticated spells still require a wand to complete, such as alchemy drawing magic circles on alchemical items.
Snape took Jiang Li's wand with a serious and pious look, which made Jiang Li want to laugh. He thought Snape was too cautious.
The moment he got the wand, Snape felt a friendly power surging into his body, and the magic power was no longer uncontrollable as before, but became docile.
He waved his wand tentatively, and a breeze rose up in the house, as if it could penetrate the body and cleanse the soul.
Seeing this, Jiang Li was a little surprised. He didn't expect that his magic wand had such a high affinity with this child. You know, the magic wand only recognizes one master.
Snape touched the wand, then returned it to Jiang Li with a bright smile on his face.
He will have a wand of his own in the future.
Jiang Li sat at the dining table and started eating, and also praised Snape for his delicious cooking.
Snape's face flushed as he said, "Just don't blame me for using your things without permission."
"How can I blame you? You cooked delicious food."
Jiang Li picked up a piece of toast, spread some jam on it and handed it to Snape. He looked at him tenderly and said, "Merry Christmas. I have prepared a Christmas present for you. Do you want to see it?"
Christmas present?
Snape's eyes widened, looking at the gift box handed to him in surprise.
"I just met you yesterday, so I prepared the gift in a hurry. I hope you don't mind." Jiang Li explained.
After receiving the gift, Snape was still a little dizzy. Finally, at Jiang Li's urging, he opened the gift box.
It was a suit of clothes in his size.
Snape had seen these clothes in clothing stores before, but his family was too poor and Tobias had spent all the money on drinking, so he hadn't received any new clothes in a long time.
"Do you want to try it?" Jiang Li asked.
Seeing him about to cry, Jiang Li thought that when he was a child, the gifts he received from his master didn't seem to be so exaggerated.
Snape was a little excited. He went to his room, changed into the clothes, and quietly admired them in front of the mirror.
The clothes were clean and new, without any patches and not too big, as if they were tailor-made for him. Snape zipped up the cotton coat to his neck and squinted his eyes in comfort.
For the first time, he realized that clothes can be so warm to wear and that winter is not as cold as he imagined.
Snape put on his clothes and walked out. The plates on the table had been cleared away, and he did not notice that Jiang Li had quietly moved the trash can.
After Jiang Li finished dealing with the dark food in the trash can, he looked at Snape and said with satisfaction: "The clothes fit you very well. It seems that we don't need to go to the clothing store to change the size."
She couldn't sleep last night and went for a walk on the street. When she passed by a children's clothing store, she remembered that she had thrown away Snape's black clothes. She felt that she should return a set of clothes to the boy, so she went in and bought a set of clothes for the boy.
Her vision is still very good, this set is very suitable for boys.
"Miss, thank you." Snape said a little embarrassedly.
The other party didn't even know who he was, but was so nice to him. He always felt like he was dreaming.
"You're welcome." Jiang Li extended his hand towards him and said, "I'm Gardenia Malfoy. My friends call me Ali. You can just call me Ali."
Snape remembered this name deeply in his heart and said to Jiang Li: "My name is Severus Snape, you can call me Severus."
"Since we have exchanged names, we are friends. Would you like to visit my potions room?" Jiang Li made a friendly invitation to Snape.
Snape was a little tempted, but when he thought about how he had run away yesterday and didn't go back, and that Irene must be very anxious, he shook his head.
"I'm going home. My mom must be worried about me."
Jiang Li nodded and said with understanding: "Then I'll take you back."
"No need, I can go back by myself." Snape said quickly.
Hearing this, Jiang Li did not insist on sending him back, but took an umbrella and gave it to him, saying, "It's snowing outside, it would be better to bring an umbrella."
Snape was slightly stunned, then took the umbrella and said to Jiang Li seriously: "Thank you, A-Li."
Jiang Li looked at him and smiled brightly, "No need to say thank you between friends."
Hearing this, Snape gripped the umbrella handle tightly, and his chest felt like it was filled with something.
Does he have friends too?
Jiang Li looked at the boy in front of him and he hummed an imperceptible "hmm". Then he ran into the snow without even opening his umbrella, and gradually ran out of his sight.
Looking at the dark sky, Jiang Li picked up the beige coat hanging on the hanger in the entrance and slowly walked into the snow.
The cold wind hit his face, and Christmas songs were playing in the snowy night. Snape ran quickly on the street, through the crowd, and gradually walked to one end of the city.
The poorest people in London live here, while on the other side of the river is an exquisite wealthy area, which is completely different from here.
As soon as he entered here, Snape felt several eyes falling on him.
He touched his new clothes and felt a little regretful. He should have changed into his worn-out clothes before coming back.
Snape pretended to be calm and walked into the alley. Irene was waiting for him, and he had to go home quickly.
"Hey, whose child is lost and ran here? Do you want your uncle to take you home?"
Two ruffians with dirty clothes blocked Snape's way, looking at him greedily.
"Isn't this the monster kid from the drunkard Tobias's house?"
One of the homeless men recognized Snape's identity and reached out to strip him of his clothes.
"Where did you steal these clothes, you little monster? Take them off now."
The quality of this dress seems to be extraordinary, and it is still brand new. I think I can get a lot of money if I sell it.
Two homeless men came forward and grabbed Snape, trying to take off his clothes.
"No, don't touch my clothes with your dirty hands!"
Snape struggled hard. This was the first time he received a Christmas present and it must not be taken away from him.
Seeing his clothes almost torn, one of the homeless men shouted in dissatisfaction.
"Tom, can't you be a little more gentle? If you tear the clothes, you won't get a good price for them."
"I want to take it off properly, but this little brat won't listen."
"Just knock him out with a brick. He's so annoying because he keeps moving around."
One of the homeless men picked up a brick from the corner and was about to hit Snape on the head with a grin. However, the next second, his foot slipped and the brick hit his own head, and he fainted.
"You idiot, you can't even do such a small thing."
The homeless man who was holding Snape saw this and walked over cursing, wanting to pick up a brick to hit Snape. However, after taking two steps, his foot slipped again and his head hit the brick he had just hit.
The two homeless men fainted. Snape was a little confused. After hesitating for a second, he ran away.
Although he could still feel the presence of prying eyes, Snape did not see anyone coming up to stop him.
It was not until he ran into the small house at 19 Spinner's End that the figure following him turned around and left.
