Chapter 32: Clearing the relationship
On the way back, Jiang Li thought Snape would be angry, but unexpectedly he was very calm, as if nothing had happened.
She looked at Snape in surprise and said, "Aren't you angry? I just took you into the air."
Snape was actually not that afraid of flying. When he heard Jiang Li's words, he glanced at her indifferently.
"If you know that others don't like it, you shouldn't do such a stupid thing."
Angry indeed.
Jiang Li took out a glass bottle from his pocket and deliberately shook it in front of Snape.
"this is for you."
The bottle contained two insects that looked like moths, but they had strange and beautiful patterns on their wings. The patterns glowed in the air, and when they flapped their wings, they would sprinkle shiny phosphorus powder.
"Is this... a happy moth?"
Snape looked at the moth in the bottle in amazement.
"Correct! 10 points for Slytherin!"
Jiang Li stuffed the glass bottle into his arms and explained with a smile.
“I noticed that you had been looking up information about the Joy Potion over the past few days, and I knew that you were missing an ingredient, and it was this little thing.
I consulted Mr. Nicolas Flamel, and he told me that the joy moth is actually a product of alchemy.
This creature is often born in places where happiness gathers and is particularly sensitive to fire.
So I set up a magic circle in the most crowded places to extract the happy emotions of the Muggles and see if I could hatch the happy moths. Unexpectedly, it worked."
Jiang Li bent down and tapped the glass bottle gently with his fingers. The happy moth was frightened and flew around in the bottle.
She also studied it for a long time before she discovered that this thing was actually a product of alchemy. No wonder there were no happy moths on the market.
The Happy Moth has many uses. It can be used for appreciation, and can also be used to make medicine. It can be used in many advanced potions, but no one has ever seen it, so many people use other potion materials instead.
It is the most important ingredient in the joy potion and is irreplaceable.
The joy potion is a high-level potion that can weaken people's feelings about sad memories and make them only remember the mood in happy memories.
It is a bit similar to the Oblivion spell, but the Oblivion spell requires forgetting or changing memories, while the Happiness Potion does not. It can make people remember all memories, but it is too troublesome and very expensive. Few people would make it, so there are few records in this regard.
Snape put his fingers on the glass bottle, and a happy moth just landed on his fingertips, flapping its wings slowly, as if interacting with it.
"So, you are flying with me because you want to capture it and give it to me?" Snape asked Jiang Li.
"Of course, I'm not sick, why should I force others to do something they don't like to do."
Jiang Li put his hands behind his back, walked forward, glanced at Snape sideways and said, "There are exactly two happy moths. We can each take half. Don't kill yours yet. I'll see if I can take mine apart to make alchemical materials."
"Why don't you keep it? Its scales are also useful." said Snape.
"Why don't you keep yours? When the time comes, just give me half of your phosphorus powder." Jiang Li said bluntly.
Snape didn't think there was anything wrong and nodded.
Back home, Snape searched the bookshelf for a book about feeding the merry moth.
Jiang Li was more relaxed and fell asleep right after taking a shower.
His head had just hit the pillow when he suddenly thought of something and got up from the bed, ran out, and said to Snape who was reading, "Merry Christmas! Severus."
Snape was slightly stunned, and said slowly: "Merry Christmas, Gardenia."
Jiang Li didn't have any sense of reality about this name, and he always thought it was talking about someone else.
"I know you're serious, but your health is important too. It's almost time to go to bed. Don't stay up late."
She gave Snape some instructions and immediately went back to her room and lay down.
Hiss, it’s so cold!
Jiang Li thought that he should put a few more fire lizards in the room.
Looking at the closed door, Snape's gaze paused on the book for a few seconds and then closed it.
Forget it, let’s go to bed early today.
Early the next morning, Jiang Li heard knocking sounds outside the window.
She got up from the bed expressionlessly and found an owl standing outside her window with a gift box in its feet.
Jiang Li pushed open the window, and the little owl immediately flew in, threw the gift on the table, and tilted its little head to look at Jiang Li, waiting to be fed.
"..."
She resigned herself to her fate and took out some cookies from the drawer and gave them to the cute owl.
The owl quickly pecked the biscuit from her hand, but did not leave. Instead, it looked at her expectantly, as if asking: Any more?
Jiang Li simply packed up the whole box of cookies and handed it to the little owl.
"These are all yours, take them back and eat them slowly."
The little owl was obviously very happy. It flew to Jiang Li, rubbed his cheek, then grabbed the box of cookies and left.
Jiang Li opened the package and took a look at the name of the sender.
It was a Christmas gift from Dumbledore, and inside was a set of chocolate frogs with various cards on them.
Jiang Li opened the chocolate and a frog jumped out immediately.
She quickly grabbed the frog and put it into her mouth, and it instantly turned into a normal piece of chocolate.
I opened several chocolate frogs in a row, but only got the cards of Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
Jiang Li touched his chin and looked at the faces of the two men, feeling a little strange.
How come these two people still look like a couple? Has her ability to read faces declined?
In the following time, several owls flew over one after another and placed gifts on her table.
Most of the gifts were pretty normal, except for Abraxas.
He gave Jiang Li a very expensive emerald necklace, the kind that Muggles like, and it was very valuable.
Jiang Li wanted to feed candy to the golden eagle that delivered the letter, but the golden eagle looked insulted, gave him a look of disdain, and then flew away.
What a proud golden eagle! Jiang Li felt that he might be able to raise one.
There was also a huge gift box on the table. Jiang Li took a look at the name on it. It was sent by Lucius to Snape.
Jiang Li was a little curious about what Lucius would give him, so he just kept waiting at the table.
After Snape came out and saw the gift box, he opened it in front of Jiang Li. Inside was various high-level potion ingredients.
"You and Lucius are really a perfect match. You give gifts and potions to others, and he gives you gifts and potion materials." Jiang Li commented sharply.
Snape was disgusted by her words.
Thinking of Lucius's face speaking to him lovingly, he almost vomited.
"Are you going to make a potion today too?"
Seeing Snape carrying the materials to the potions room, Jiang Li asked curiously.
"No, take a rest today." Snape said lightly.
He just habitually put the precious materials in the designated place.
Jiang Li rested his chin on the back of the sofa, looked at Snape who came out of the key grinder, and asked, "Have you seen the Christmas present I gave you?"
"I saw it." Snape nodded and replied.
It is a very exquisite Pixiu necklace.
Snape felt that this gorgeous style was more suitable for Lucius, so he put it in a drawer for collection.
"That's the alchemical necklace I made for you. It can resist eight fatal injuries. It uses a lot of precious materials. Remember to wear it close to your body and don't take it off." Jiang Lizhen said.
She used to be able to see Snape's fate, but since Snape's fate was changed, she couldn't deduce it at all.
Snape didn't expect the necklace to have such an effect.
He thought Jiang Li had picked the necklace casually, after all, Jiang Li liked Muggle accessories very much.
"I see. I'll wear it."
As Snape spoke, he put on the necklace and put it into his underwear to cover himself.
"By the way, I found this at the bottom of the box when I threw it away yesterday. Did you put it in the wrong place?"
Jiang Li took out a key to the Gringotts vault from his pocket.
The place where she lost it was so hidden that she almost threw the key out with it.
If I hadn't heard a sound when shaking the gift box, and hadn't curiously opened it to take a look, and discovered that there was another box underneath the potion box, the key would have been lying in the trash at this moment.
"That's right."
Snape looked at Jiang Li's beautiful blue eyes and said slowly, "I asked Lucius to deposit the income from making potions in the Gringotts vault. Only you can go and get it."
Hearing this, Jiang Li fiddled with the vault key with his fingers, raised his eyebrows and looked at Snape and said, "Are you planning to cut off your relationship with me?"
She remembered that Snape had said before that he wanted to move out and live on his own.
"No." Snape realized that Jiang Li had misinterpreted his thoughts and explained, "You've been very good to me. I don't have anything to give you. This is the best gift I can give you right now."
The key to the vault tapped lightly on the table, making a crisp sound. Jiang Li stared at Snape for a few seconds before his brows relaxed slightly.
"Okay, the money in the treasury will be considered as your household allowance. When you get your salary in the future, you will have to hand over a portion of it into the small treasury." Jiang Li said confidently.
Don't you want to distance yourself from him? Just give all the money to her and see how Snape can distance himself from her.
"Okay, I've already told Lucius that all the money earned from now on will be deposited in the vault." Snape answered seriously.
Anyway, he doesn't have much time to spend money.
Jiang Li looked at him in shock and said, "You gave me all the money, don't you need to live?"
"It doesn't matter, you won't let me really starve to death." Snape replied calmly.
The answer was so unexpected that Jiang Li didn't know how to answer Snape for a moment.
