Chapter 9 This is a primary Horcrux
Su Nian huddled in a corner, shivering, her body shaking like a leaf swaying in the wind. Her eyes were filled with fear and helplessness, and she hugged her knees tightly, trying to gain a sense of security from this small action. How she hoped that the spaceship could safely arrive at a place where she could start her life again, even if it was just a corner where she could barely survive.
In this suffocating fear and anxiety, Su Nian's thoughts involuntarily drifted away, back to the life in the 21st century. At that time, the sky was as blue as a gem, clear and high, and the sun was like a warm embrace, gently sprinkled on the earth. Every day was so carefree, without hunger, cold, and fear of the unknown.
She recalled walking down the street, the breeze gently brushing her cheeks, bringing bursts of flower fragrance. The shops on both sides of the street were full of dazzling goods, and people's faces were filled with happy and satisfied smiles. She could play with her friends in the park, and the laughter echoed in the air. She could lie lazily on the lawn in the afternoon sun, watching the white clouds drifting by, and fantasizing about the beauty of the future. The future at that time was full of infinite possibilities and hope, without the pressure of survival, and without this endless danger and suffering.
As she thought about it, Su Nian's eyes became moist, and an indescribable sadness welled up in her heart. Now, she was in this cold and unfamiliar spaceship, with an uncertain future and no idea where her destiny would be.
At this moment, her eyes accidentally fell on a small invoice on the floor. Su Nian slowly stretched out her trembling hands, as if she had exhausted all her strength, and picked up the invoice. This invoice might be just a piece of waste paper in the eyes of others, but in Su Nian's eyes at this moment, it seemed like a life-saving straw.
Su Nian decided to fold it into a thousand paper cranes, perhaps this would bring some comfort to her tortured soul. Her fingers trembled slightly, but she was very attentive. She first carefully folded the invoice along the long side, trying to make each crease straight, as if this was the most important fold in her life. Then she folded it again, folding it into a long and thin rectangle. Her eyes were focused and determined, as if she was completing a sacred mission.
Then, she carefully folded one end of the rectangle into a small triangle as the head of the crane, her movements were as gentle as if she was protecting a rare treasure, and then she carefully folded the other end into the shape of two wings, each fold carrying her deepest desire and prayer.
The moment she folded the paper cranes, Su Nian felt a strange power injected into them. The power was warm and gentle, and it made her heart tremble. She remembered that when she was a child, she heard that paper cranes could make wishes, so she closed her eyes and silently made a wish in her heart: I hope to get rid of this endless suffering and have a better future. Her lips moved slightly, as if she was having a silent conversation with fate.
Su Nian gently placed the paper cranes next to the transparent window of the spacecraft. The cranes flashed a unique glow in the dim light, as if soaring freely in space.
The spaceship finally stabilized, and everyone's tense hearts relaxed a little. At this moment, a person with keen mental perception suddenly noticed a trace of soul power fluctuation nearby. His eyes widened instantly, as if he had discovered a treasure. He looked in the direction of the soul power, and his eyes were fixed on the paper crane. He first showed an expression of disbelief on his face, and then quickly rushed over to hold it in his hand.
"What is this? There is actually a fluctuation of soul power!" He couldn't help but exclaimed.
The people around heard his exclamation and looked at him curiously.
"What's wrong? What happened?" someone asked anxiously.
"This... this looks like a Horcrux!" said the person holding the paper cranes in a trembling voice.
"What? How is this possible? A paper-folded thing is actually a Horcrux!" Everyone was in an uproar.
"Who put such an important thing here?" someone asked puzzledly.
"This is incredible! Horcruxes are usually made of very high-end materials, such as precious spirit stones. How could they be made of such low-end materials!" another person exclaimed.
"Maybe it's the work of some Horcrux master who deliberately used this seemingly ordinary material to test our eyesight." A gorgeously dressed businessman speculated.
"Impossible, how could a Horcrux master be on this spaceship? And using such low-end materials?" an explorer retorted.
"Maybe it's some hidden master who wants to convey some information through this." A mysterious old man said thoughtfully.
People began to talk at once, and the scene fell into chaos again.
"This soul power fluctuation is so pure, it is definitely not something that ordinary people can do."
"Is it a new method of making Horcruxes?"
"Don't guess blindly, maybe it's just a coincidence."
Su Nian was stunned by the scene before her. She had never expected that the paper cranes she had folded would cause such a stir. She stared blankly at the people who were arguing over the paper cranes, her heart filled with confusion and fear.
"Stop arguing!" A majestic voice sounded. It turned out to be the captain of the escort on the spaceship who came over. "First figure out what's going on."
Everyone then quieted down, but their eyes were still fixed on the paper crane.
The captain of the guard carefully observed the thousand paper cranes, frowning: "This is indeed a primary Horcrux, but it is really rare to be made of such materials."
"Captain, you are knowledgeable. Who do you think is responsible for this?" someone asked.
The captain of the escort thought for a moment and said, "It's hard to say, but it's no accident that this thing appeared on our spaceship. Everyone, be careful. There may be some conspiracy behind this."
Su Nian listened to their conversation in the corner, feeling increasingly uneasy. She didn't know what kind of trouble this paper crane would bring her, she just hoped that it would all end as soon as possible so that she could continue to find her own peace.
