Chapter 2: The Immortal Doctor in the Fantasy World: Lin Xiao's Magical Detoxification
The sun was like a blazing flame, licking the quiet little village crazily, as if it was going to melt every inch of the land. Lin Xiao was sitting in her simple but tidy little house, surrounded by various herbs, and the air was filled with a strong aroma of herbs. She was concentrating on sorting out the fresh herbs she had just collected, and her forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, but she was completely unaware.
"Oh, these treasures are life-saving stuff, they have to be put away properly." Lin Xiao muttered to himself as he carefully classified the herbs. He looked so serious, as if he was treating the most precious treasures in the world.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of hurried and hurried footsteps outside, accompanied by the anxious shouts of the villagers.
"Ms. Lin Xiao, it's bad. Uncle Wang at the entrance of the village suddenly fainted!" The voice sounded in Lin Xiao's ears like a thunderclap.
Lin Xiao's heart suddenly tightened, his hands trembled, and he almost dropped the precious herbs in his hands to the ground.
"What? What's going on!" She didn't have time to think about it. She hurriedly put down the herbs and rushed out of the hut like a gust of wind.
The sunlight outside was so dazzling that it was impossible to open one's eyes. Lin Xiao jogged along, and the dust under his feet flew up, forming small "tornadoes".
"What's going on?" Lin Xiao asked while running and panting, his voice full of anxiety.
The villager who led her there was so anxious that his face turned red, and sweat was pouring down like rain. He stammered, "I don't know either. Suddenly, I saw Uncle Wang lying on the ground with his eyes closed and his face was frighteningly pale. We were really scared!"
Soon, Lin Xiao arrived at the village entrance. He saw a group of villagers gathered in three layers, like an iron barrel, talking at once, and the scene was in chaos.
"What should I do? Will Uncle Wang be in serious trouble?"
"Oh my, why did you faint for no reason? Could you be possessed by evil spirits?"
Lin Xiao squeezed into the crowd with great effort and saw Uncle Wang lying on the ground, his face as pale as paper, without a trace of blood, his eyes closed, his lips slightly purple, and still trembling. Her heart sank, and she quickly squatted down, stretched out her hand to feel Uncle Wang's breath, and then felt his pulse.
"Don't panic, everyone. Let me take a look first." Although Lin Xiao's voice was not loud, it carried an unquestionable firmness.
Her brows were tightly furrowed like two small mountains, and her expression was so serious as if she was facing a life-and-death battle.
"This symptom... is a bit strange." Lin Xiao said to himself, his eyes full of confusion and worry, and he looked like a detective in trouble.
Just then, a sarcastic voice came from the crowd.
"Hmph, what can a little girl see? Don't delay us!" It turned out to be Liu Ermaizi from the village. This guy usually does nothing and likes to stir up trouble everywhere.
Lin Xiao suddenly raised his head and glared at him fiercely, his eyes seemed to be able to spit fire, and said unhappily: "If you can do it, then do it. If you can't, then don't make a fuss here! Shut up your crow mouth!"
Liu Ermaizi was speechless, his face turned as red as a ripe tomato, he snorted and stopped talking.
Lin Xiao continued to diagnose Grandpa Wang with full concentration. She flipped Grandpa Wang's eyelids, pressed his abdomen, and kept muttering to herself.
"This shouldn't be possible. What's going on? Is it food poisoning? Or was I bitten by a poisonous insect?" Lin Xiao's heart was beating like a little rabbit.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up, as if she had discovered some important clue.
"I know, it's poisoning!" Lin Xiao said loudly, with a hint of excitement and nervousness in his voice.
The villagers were suddenly in an uproar, and the scene seemed to be in chaos.
"Poisoned? How could this be poisoned?"
"Who would poison Master Wang? Could it be that he has an enemy?"
While thinking, Lin Xiao said, "Everyone, stop arguing. I want to find a way to detoxify."
She stood up quickly, beads of sweat on her forehead glittering in the sun, and said to the villagers next to her: "Hurry, help me carry Uncle Wang to the shade of the tree, out of the sun. Move gently, don't hurt Uncle Wang!"
Several strong villagers quickly did as they were told and carefully carried Uncle Wang under the shade of a tree.
Lin Xiao turned around and ran back to his own little room, rummaging through drawers and cabinets, making the room a mess.
"Oh, my precious herbs, I have to rely on you this time." Lin Xiao muttered as he hurriedly ran back to Uncle Wang.
She began to mix the herbs skillfully. Sweat beads rolled down her forehead like beads from a broken string, and her hands were busy all the time.
"Oh, will this work?" someone asked worriedly, with uneasiness in his voice.
"Believe me!" Lin Xiao answered firmly, her eyes revealing immense confidence, as if everything was under her control.
Lin Xiao was concentrating on fiddling with the herbs, muttering to himself, "This dosage must be controlled carefully, and there must be no mistakes. A little more or a little less could cost Uncle Wang his life!"
After some intensive treatment, Uncle Wang finally slowly opened his eyes.
"Great! He's awake!" The villagers cheered, their faces filled with joyful smiles, and some even jumped up with excitement.
Lin Xiao wiped the sweat from his forehead and a relieved smile appeared on his face, like a flower blooming in spring.
"Uncle Wang, how do you feel?" Lin Xiao asked with concern, his voice as gentle as a spring breeze.
Uncle Wang said weakly, "Much better, thanks to you, Miss Lin Xiao."
Just when everyone breathed a sigh of relief, a mysterious man in black appeared in the crowd.
"This little girl has some skills, but things are not that simple." The man in black said coldly, his voice seemed to come from hell, making people shudder.
After saying that, the man in black turned around and disappeared, leaving behind only the villagers with astonished faces and Lin Xiao with a frown on his face.
Lin Xiao looked at the direction where the man in black left, his heart full of doubts.
"What is going on? Why was Uncle Wang poisoned? Who is that man in black? What does he mean?" A series of questions arose in Lin Xiao's mind, like a tangled mess that could not be sorted out.
"No, I must get to the bottom of this matter!" Lin Xiao secretly made up his mind, with a determined light flashing in his eyes, that light seemed to be able to penetrate all the fog.
Next, Lin Xiao began to look for clues about Mr. Wang's poisoning. She first found Mr. Wang's family and asked in detail about his recent diet and activities.
"Uncle Wang has been eating at home these days and hasn't been going anywhere special." Uncle Wang's son said with a confused look on his face.
Lin Xiao frowned and fell into deep thought.
"Could someone have deliberately poisoned the food?" she thought to herself and decided to go to the kitchen to check.
Walking into the kitchen, Lin Xiao carefully checked every ingredient and tableware, leaving no corner unattended.
"There's nothing unusual about this." Lin Xiao muttered to himself.
Just when she felt she had no clue, she suddenly discovered some strange footprints on the windowsill.
"Whose footprints are these?" Lin Xiao's heartbeat suddenly quickened.
She followed the direction of the footprints and came to a forest behind the village.
The woods were gloomy and filled with a strange atmosphere. Lin Xiao walked carefully, hearing strange noises from time to time.
"Is there going to be any danger?" Lin Xiao was a little scared, but he still mustered up the courage to move forward.
Suddenly, a ferocious beast jumped out from the side and pounced towards Lin Xiao with bared fangs and claws.
"Oh my god!" Lin Xiao screamed in fright and turned and ran.
At this critical moment, a figure descended from the sky and easily drove away the beast.
"Little girl, you are very brave to come to this dangerous place alone." It turned out that Mo Yu appeared.
Lin Xiao patted his chest, gasped for breath, and said, "It's all to find out the truth about Mr. Wang's poisoning."
Mo Yu smiled slightly and said, "Since you have a sense of justice, I will help you."
They continued searching for clues in the woods and discovered a hidden cave.
"Maybe there is some secret in here." Mo Yu said.
Lin Xiao nodded, and the two of them walked into the cave carefully.
There was a pungent smell in the cave and strange lights flickered on the walls.
"What on earth is this place?" Lin Xiao followed Mo Yu closely, his voice trembling slightly.
Suddenly, a gust of cold wind blew, and a mysterious voice echoed in the cave.
"You shouldn't be here..."
Lin Xiao and Mo Yu looked at each other, their hearts filled with fear and curiosity.
Can they uncover the truth about Mr. Wang's poisoning? What secrets are hidden in the cave?
