Chapter 390: A Sudden Murder in a Closed Room
Yuya was immersed in his own fantasy when the sudden scream frightened him so much that he shuddered violently.
What concerned You even more was that this scream seemed a little different from usual ones. It sounded... very suppressed, as if someone was covering their mouth with their hands to muffle the sound.
Oh no, could something have happened to that rich businessman?
There was no time to think about it, Youye jumped onto the shore and rushed out, not even caring about the fallen bath towel.
"Ah!" Miyano Shiho looked over subconsciously and her face turned red immediately - she saw something dirty!
However...Myano Shiho's eyes were a little vague, and she followed Yuya's back uncontrollably.
That...is it what you usually do when you touch yourself in bed at night?
···
Youya grabbed a bathrobe and put it on, then quickly rushed back to the villa.
As soon as I entered the room, I saw other people running up the stairs to the second floor, and I quickly followed them.
Following everyone to a door, Youya narrowed his eyes. That was Kentaro Nishikawa's room!
Toru Amuro was standing at the front of the crowd, and next to him stood Misa Nishikawa, the wife of his eldest son, who looked frightened.
Yuya glanced at Nishikawa Misa and walked forward: "Mr. Amuro, what happened? I think I heard a scream?"
Amuro Toru's face was solemn: "I was just discussing tomorrow's affairs with the housekeeper, and suddenly I heard screams coming from upstairs. When I rushed over, I saw..."
Turning to look at the panicked Nishikawa Misa, he continued, "I saw her, standing at the door holding the door handle."
Youya narrowed his eyes: "What's going on in there?"
Amuro Toru shook his head: "The door is locked, and there was no response when I knocked."
Yuya sighed in his heart. He had solved so many cases that he knew without even looking at the scene that Kentaro Nishikawa was most likely dead.
"Knock the door open." Yuya said.
Just as the butler was about to say something, Yuya and Amuro Toru quickly pushed the door open.
The two rushed in and saw Kentaro Nishikawa lying motionless on the ground in the center of the room, with a large pool of blood around his head.
Youya went forward to check and said in a deep voice: "He's dead, call the police."
The body was not stiff and still warm, and the time of death was no more than 10 minutes. He must have been killed when the screams were heard.
The housekeeper said hurriedly: "I'll call the police!" and turned and ran out.
Yuya took a deep breath and stood up to observe the room.
"Dad!" Upon seeing this, Taro Nishikawa and Jiro cried out loudly and rushed over to throw themselves onto their father's side.
Amuro Toru quickly stopped them: "Don't go over there!"
The two glared at Amuro Toru: "What do you mean, that's our father!"
Before Amuro Toru could answer, Yuya said coldly: "You guys are only going to ruin the scene, get out!"
Everyone wanted to refute something, but seeing Yuya's serious look and his identity as a famous detective, they had no choice but to shut their mouths, leave the room obediently and stand at the door looking around.
Just looking at their expressions, they didn't look anxious or sad at all.
Yuya took out gloves and shoe covers and put them on, then handed a set to Amuro Toru.
Amuro Toru was stunned. He carried gloves and shoe covers with him? Yuya-kun is indeed a famous detective. He is always ready to deal with cases!
But... where did he get it from? Amuro Toru was confused for a moment.
Of course, Yuya didn't know what Amuro Toru was thinking. If he knew, he wouldn't know whether to cry or laugh.
Because they needed to protect the scene before the police arrived, the two men just gave it a quick check and didn't move anything.
While the two were checking the room, Miyano Shiho also came over after getting dressed. She glanced at the situation in the room without saying anything, but just stood at the door and watched Youya walking around inside quietly.
After a while, Yuya and Amuro Toru stood at the door and discussed their findings.
"The person died by having his throat slit." Amuro Toru spoke first.
Yuya nodded and added, "The door is locked, and no other exits were found. The only window can only be opened so narrowly that no one can pass through."
Yuya opened his palm, which contained an old copper key: "I found the key. It was next to the deceased. Judging from the distance, it was impossible to throw it in through the window or door."
Toru Amuro's expression changed slightly. The door was locked and the key was in the room?
"Secret room murder?"
Yuya nodded slightly. From the preliminary investigation, it was indeed a murder case in a closed room.
Amuro Toru frowned, glanced at the messy room, and said, "The room is so messy, it looks like there has been a very fierce fight."
"I don't think so." Yuya shook his head to deny it, and Amuro Toru looked at Yuya in confusion.
Yuya pointed at the body on the ground and said, "Have you forgotten that Mr. Nishikawa's health is very poor. He even has difficulty standing up. It doesn't take much effort to kill him. I'm afraid a woman or a child can do it. How could there be such a fierce fight?"
Amuro Toru thought about it and understood: "You mean, the murderer deliberately made the scene like this? Is he trying to cover up something?"
"Maybe." You didn't comment. In addition to covering up something, the room might be made like this in order to set up a mechanism.
Since it was a secret room, there must be a mechanism to lock the door and deliver the key, or a mechanism to kill people at a fixed time - he was more inclined to the former. After all, a mechanism to deliver the key to the door was easier to set up than a mechanism to kill people, and was less likely to leave traces.
"Hey, you've said so much, is there no possibility that it was suicide?" the second son, Jiro Nishikawa, suddenly asked.
Yuya and Amuro Toru looked at him at the same time: "Why do you feel that way?"
Alexander was stared at by the two men, and Nishikawa Jiro swallowed his saliva and said, "Didn't you say that the door was locked, the key was in the room, and there was no other exit. Doesn't that mean that no one can get out? Isn't this suicide?"
Youye shook his head, holding the brass key and looking at the housekeeper who had returned from calling the police: "Mr. Housekeeper, this should be the key to open this door, right?"
Upon hearing this, the butler came forward and carefully identified it, then nodded and said, "Yes, it is indeed the key to open this door, and there are only two such keys, one in the master's possession and one in my possession."
As he spoke, he pulled out another key from his pocket, exactly the same as the one in Yuya's hand.
"Could the butler be the murderer?" Nishikawa Taro immediately became suspicious.
Amuro Toru explained: "The butler was with me when the crime happened, so he didn't have time to commit the crime."
"Tsk." Nishikawa Taro clicked his tongue, turned his face away and stopped talking.
Yuya said: "There are new scratches on the key. I suspect that the murderer used some kind of mechanism to send the key into the room."
Yuya squinted his eyes and glanced at everyone's reactions. Kentaro Nishikawa's two sons and daughter-in-law didn't look sad at all. Only his granddaughter Mari Nishikawa had tears in her eyes.
Given the family's behavior, Yuya began to doubt whether she was really sad about her grandfather's death.
They seemed to care nothing about the murder of Kentaro Nishikawa.
