Chapter 237: Escape from the Fantasy World: Lin Xiao's Adventure in the Horror Forest
Lin Xiao was alone in the eerie black forest, groping her way forward with difficulty. Every step she took seemed like she was on the edge of death. The trees around her were like huge dark ghosts, pouncing on her with their fangs and claws, as if they were going to swallow her whole. The moonlight was cut into pieces by the dense branches and leaves, like sharp blades. The occasional rays of light not only did not bring a trace of warmth, but made the forest seem even more eerie and eerie.
"What the hell is this place? Why am I so unlucky to end up in this godforsaken place?" Lin Xiao kept muttering, her voice trembling violently. Her face was as pale as paper, without a trace of blood, and her eyes were full of fear and confusion, like a frightened little rabbit that could collapse to the ground at any time.
Suddenly, a cold wind blew past, and Lin Xiao couldn't help but shivering, and his teeth began to chatter.
"Oh my god, this wind is so weird! It feels like a pair of cold hands are touching me!" Lin Xiao said tremblingly while hugging his arms tightly.
At this moment, the eerie cry came from afar again. It seemed to come from the depths of hell, filled with endless pain and sorrow. Lin Xiao's heartbeat accelerated instantly, as if a crazy drum was beating violently in her chest.
"Wuwuwu...Who? Who is crying there? Stop playing tricks and come out!" Lin Xiao shouted hysterically. His voice echoed in the silent forest, but there was no response.
Beads of sweat the size of beans appeared on her forehead, slid down her cheeks, and flashed strange light in the darkness.
Lin Xiao gritted his teeth and continued to move forward. The fallen leaves under his feet made a "crunching" sound, and each sound was like a countdown to death.
"This shabby place feels increasingly eerie the further I walk in. Am I really going to die here?" Lin Xiao's voice was tearful and his legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead.
Just then, a huge bat flew past her head, bringing with it a gust of cool wind that made the hair on her spine stand on end.
"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed in fright and almost fell to the ground.
"This damn bat almost scared me to death!" She said while gasping for breath and cursing.
She ran desperately, not knowing how long she had been running, until a dilapidated castle appeared in front of her.
This castle is like a sleeping giant, exuding the smell of decay and death. The gate is closed and surrounded by vines, which are like green poisonous snakes, making people shudder.
"Is this my life-saving straw? Or another death trap?" Lin Xiao hesitated, feeling like there were two villains fighting in his heart.
In the end, the strong desire to survive overcame her fear. She took a deep breath, walked forward, and pushed the heavy door hard.
"Squeak..." The door slowly opened, and a pungent musty smell rushed towards her like a huge wave, almost making her faint.
Lin Xiao walked into the castle carefully. It was dark and damp inside, with strange portraits hanging on the walls. The characters in the portraits had empty eyes, as if they were staring at her, which made her back feel cold.
"What is all this? It feels like walking into a haunted house!" Lin Xiao's voice was trembling so much that it was almost unrecognizable.
Suddenly, there was a sound of "dong dong dong" footsteps behind me.
"Who? Who is there?" Lin Xiao turned around suddenly, holding a branch picked up from the ground tightly in his hand, and made a defensive posture.
However, there was nothing behind her, only the sound of footsteps continued to echo.
Just when she breathed a sigh of relief, a dark shadow swept past her from behind, bringing with it a gust of cool breeze.
"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed again, and the sound broke the silence of the castle.
"Don't scare me! If you have the guts, come out and fight me head-on!" Lin Xiao shouted loudly, his voice filled with anger and fear.
She ran frantically in the castle, trying to find the exit.
"This damn castle is like a maze!" Lin Xiao cursed as he ran.
However, this castle seemed like a huge cage, and no matter how she ran, she could not find a way out.
"Am I really going to die here? I don't want to die yet!" Lin Xiao collapsed to the ground in despair, unable to hold back tears.
Just then, she found a yellowed diary lying quietly in the corner.
"What is this? Is it my life-saving straw?" Lin Xiao grabbed the diary as if he had grasped the last straw.
She opened the diary, and the words on it were blurred, as if they had been eroded by time.
"What's written here?" Lin Xiao tried hard to make out the words.
Suddenly, a dazzling light shot out from the diary, illuminating the entire castle...
