Chapter 234: "Fantasy World: Lin Xiao's Desperate Escape"

Lin Xiao was alone in the dark and gloomy forest. The moonlight was like a thin silver thread, struggling to penetrate the gaps between the dense leaves and falling on the moss-covered ground. The mist that filled the surroundings seemed to have life, attacking her with its fangs and claws, making her vision blurry.

"What kind of a place is this? I feel like I've fallen into a horror movie!" Lin Xiao frowned, her lips trembling slightly, her face as pale as a sheet of paper. She moved her feet carefully, each step seemed so heavy, and the fallen leaves under her feet made a "crunching" sound, which was particularly harsh in this eerie silence of the forest.

Suddenly, a biting cold wind blew past, and Lin Xiao couldn't help but shiver violently, and his teeth began to chatter.

"Oh my god, this wind is so weird! It feels like an invisible hand is pushing me hard!" Lin Xiao hugged his shoulders tightly with both hands and curled up into a ball.

At this moment, a low and terrifying roar came from a distance. The sound seemed to come from the depths of hell, with endless anger and killing. Lin Xiao's heartbeat accelerated instantly, as if it was about to jump out of his throat.

"This...what's that thing screaming? It's not going to eat me, is it?" Lin Xiao's voice was obviously trembling and full of fear. His legs seemed to be weighed down by lead blocks and he couldn't move at all.

As the roar got closer, Lin Xiao's breathing became more rapid, and beads of sweat the size of beans appeared on his forehead.

"No, I can't just wait to die!" Lin Xiao gritted his teeth, mustered up the courage, turned around and ran.

She fled desperately in the forest. Branches and thorns scratched her cheeks and arms mercilessly like the devil's claws. Blood instantly dyed her clothes red, but she no longer cared about the pain.

"Help! Is there anyone who can save me?" Lin Xiao ran while shouting for help, his voice full of despair and helplessness.

However, there was no response except the sound of her own footsteps and breathing.

Lin Xiao felt like her lungs were about to explode and her legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, but she didn't dare stop because she could feel that terrible thing chasing her closely behind her.

Just when Lin Xiao felt exhausted and almost collapsed to the ground, she suddenly found a dilapidated temple in front of her. The walls of the temple were covered with vines, the gate was crumbling, and it exuded a rotten smell.

"Maybe there is hope!" A glimmer of hope ignited in Lin Xiao's heart, and he used his last bit of strength to run towards the temple.

When she rushed into the temple, she found it was full of spider webs and thick dust, with a huge statue standing in the center. The face of the statue was blurred, and the paint on the body was almost peeling off, but it exuded a mysterious and majestic atmosphere.

"God, please save me!" Lin Xiao knelt down in front of the statue, clasped his hands together, and tears flowed down uncontrollably.

At this moment, the roar outside the temple suddenly stopped, and the surroundings fell into deathly silence.

Lin Xiao was breathing heavily, his heart filled with confusion and fear.

"Was the monster scared away? Or is it planning an even more terrifying attack?" Lin Xiao thought to himself, but he did not dare to relax at all.

Suddenly, a creaking sound came from the temple, as if something was slowly approaching.

Lin Xiao turned his head nervously, and saw a huge rat coming out from the corner. The rat's eyes flashed a strange red light, its fur was dirty and messy, and its mouth showed sharp teeth.

"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed in fright and quickly stood up and stepped back.

But the mouse kept moving forward, making a squeaking sound with its mouth.

"Don't come over! Don't come over!" Lin Xiao picked up a stone and threw it at the mouse.

The mouse nimbly dodged the stone and continued to approach Lin Xiao.

At this critical moment, Lin Xiao found a wooden stick nearby. She quickly picked it up and swung it at the mouse.

"I'm going to beat you to death!" Lin Xiao shouted loudly, his eyes full of determination and courage.

The mouse seemed to be frightened by Lin Xiao's momentum and turned around and crawled into a hole.

Lin Xiao heaved a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground. But she knew that this was only temporary peace, and greater danger might still be ahead...
