Chapter 226: Lin Xiao's Journey to Break Through the Dilemma
Lin Xiao walked into the dark and gloomy forest alone. The surrounding trees were towering into the sky, like huge black shadows approaching her with bared fangs and claws. The branches and leaves intertwined into a dense net, ruthlessly blocking the only weak light. The air was filled with thick fog, damp and cold, making Lin Xiao feel as if she was trapped in a thick fog every time she took a step forward.
Lin Xiao's face was covered in dirt and sweat, and her delicate makeup had long been replaced by a dishevelled look. Her hair was in disarray, like a bunch of dry grass ravaged by the wind, sticking randomly to her cheeks. She clenched her teeth tightly, as if she was about to break them, and held the sharp dagger tightly in her hand. Because she was holding it too hard, her knuckles turned pale.
"What the hell is this place? Why am I so unlucky to be dragged here for no apparent reason!" Lin Xiao moved his feet carefully while cursing under his breath.
Her voice seemed particularly abrupt in the silent forest, but was instantly swallowed up by the surrounding darkness, as if it had never existed.
Suddenly, a cold and eerie wind blew, and the leaves made a creepy rustling sound, as if countless ghosts were whispering in the darkness. Lin Xiao's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, like a drum being beaten wildly, making a rapid sound in his chest.
She stopped, held her breath, and widened her eyes, trying to catch a glimpse of unusual movement in the endless darkness.
"Will something suddenly pop up?" Lin Xiao's voice trembled with unconcealable fear.
At this moment, a huge python sprang out from the tree next to it like a ghost. The python's body was as thick as a bucket, and its scales flickered strangely in the weak light. It opened its bloody mouth, spewed out a pungent smell, and pounced straight at Lin Xiao.
"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed in horror, her voice so sharp that it almost pierced the silence of the forest.
She instinctively stepped back, staggered, and almost fell to the ground. But the desire to survive made her react quickly in an instant, and she dodged to the side and narrowly avoided the python's fatal blow.
The python missed its attack and twisted its huge body in anger, sweeping its tail through the surrounding trees, making crackling sounds.
"Come on, you beast!" Lin Xiao shouted loudly, trying to give himself courage.
She gripped the dagger tightly, staring at the python's every move, and all the muscles in her body were tensed, ready for the python's next attack.
The python pounced again, as fast as lightning. Lin Xiao seized the opportunity and stabbed at the python's eyes.
"Go to hell!" she shouted loudly, her face full of determination.
However, the python reacted extremely quickly and avoided her attack with a slight movement of its head.
Lin Xiao and the python were in a fierce and brutal fight. Her clothes were torn by the branches, and bloodstains appeared on her arms and legs, and her clothes were stained red with blood. But she had no intention of retreating, and her eyes were burning with a stronger fighting spirit.
"I won't be defeated by you so easily!" Lin Xiao gasped and shouted loudly.
Just as Lin Xiao was gradually running out of energy and feeling desperate, a melodious and mysterious flute sound suddenly came from afar. The flute sound seemed to have some kind of magic, floating in the air and penetrating the darkness and silence of the forest.
When the python heard the flute, its body trembled violently, and a hint of hesitation and fear appeared in its originally fierce eyes. It stopped attacking and slowly retracted its body.
"What's with this flute sound? Is there someone else in this forest?" Lin Xiao gasped heavily and collapsed to the ground, his heart full of confusion and fear.
Just as Lin Xiao was struggling to get up and continue moving forward, a mysterious figure slowly approached from the depths of the woods. The figure was shrouded in a layer of hazy mist, making it impossible to see its face and figure clearly.
"Who are you?" Lin Xiao asked vigilantly, enduring the pain in his body.
The mysterious figure did not answer, but just stepped closer. As the distance shortened, Lin Xiao's heartbeat became faster and faster, as if it was about to jump out of his throat.
"Don't come over here! I won't be polite if you come over again!" Lin Xiao raised the dagger, his voice trembling but firm.
The mysterious figure finally stopped, slowly raised his hand, and cleared the fog in front of him.
"It's you?" Lin Xiao's eyes widened, with an expression of disbelief on his face...
