Chapter 198 The Villain Lady Arrives 26

Deep in the forest, everything seemed to be calm, with only Arthur's faint breathing and the rhythm of blood dripping, which seemed particularly piercing in the silence. However, this tranquility did not last long, as a light figure shuttled through the forest, and it was Chi Meng.

Her steps were neither hurried nor slow, and her eyes flashed with calmness and determination, as if she had already anticipated this scene.

Chi Meng slowly approached Arthur, her eyes stayed on Arthur's face which was twisted by fear for a moment, and then fell on the storage space hanging around his waist. It was an exquisite ornament, inlaid with a few inconspicuous gems, but it concealed a space.

She raised her hand gently, and her fingertips lightly touched the storage space. A gentle force surged from her palm and slowly took out the storage space.

"Greed and arrogance will only lead to self-destruction." Chi Meng whispered, her voice was soft but as chilling as ice. She turned around and took out a fireball charm from her sleeve. With a flick of her fingertips, the charm turned into a dazzling flame and rushed straight towards Arthur's body.

The flames instantly engulfed Arthur, enveloping him in raging flames. In the flames, Arthur's struggles and wails seemed so powerless, and eventually turned into a wisp of smoke and dissipated into the air.

After a while, only a pile of burnt marks were left on the ground, quietly existing there, as if telling a story about greed and punishment.

Chi Meng stood aside, watching this scene, without any emotion in his eyes.

She put away the storage space, turned around and was about to leave, but before leaving, she sighed softly, as if she felt a little sorry for Arthur's stupidity and misfortune. You could pick on anyone else but yourself, isn't this courting death?

After leaving the magic forest, Chi Meng seemed to be in a much better mood. She walked along the forest path, the sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves, and sprinkled on her body, forming mottled light and shadow. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath of fresh air, and felt the tranquility and harmony of nature.

"It's time to go back." She whispered to herself, and then her figure flashed and disappeared from the spot, leaving only a series of light footsteps echoing in the woods.

Not long after, Chi Meng returned to the courtyard near the academy that she had carefully decorated. This was a building full of magical atmosphere, surrounded by various exotic flowers and plants, and the air was filled with a faint scent of magical medicine. She pushed open the gate and was greeted by the gentle smile of the maid Xiaodie.

"Miss, you're back." Xiaodie came forward and took the cloak from Chi Meng's hand, her eyes full of admiration for her own young lady.

"Well, I'm back." Chi Meng smiled and nodded, then walked into the house. The house was elegantly decorated and full of magical elements. The bookshelves were filled with various precious magic books, and there were several bottles of unfinished potions scattered on the table.

"Xiao Die, help me prepare some materials. I want to prepare some new potions." Chi Meng said as he walked to the table and began to organize the utensils on the table.

"Yes, Miss." Xiaodie went away and soon returned with a few baskets full of herbs. Chi Meng took the baskets and began to prepare the potion seriously. Her technique was skillful and precise, and every step seemed so calm and unhurried.

Time passed unnoticed, and when the last drop of potion fell into the bottle, Chi Meng finally breathed a sigh of relief. She stood up and looked at the bottles of newly prepared potion in front of her with satisfaction, her eyes flashing with excitement.

"These potions should cause quite a stir in the market." She said to herself, and then instructed Xiaodie: "Send these potions to our magic supply store. Remember to keep them carefully."

"Yes, Miss." Xiaodie took the potion and was about to leave when she seemed to remember something and stopped and asked, "Miss, did you encounter anything interesting during your outing this time?"

Hearing this, Chi Meng smiled faintly. She shook her head and said, "It's nothing special. I just met some ignorant people."

"Oh?" Xiaodie heard this, a hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes, "What happened next? How did the young lady deal with it?"

Chi Meng smiled slightly, but did not answer directly. He just waved his hand and said, "Okay, go ahead. Remember to be careful on the road."

Seeing this, Xiaodie stopped asking questions, bowed respectfully, and left with the potion.

Chi Meng sat alone at the table, playing with an exquisite magic ornament in her hand, which was the storage space she got from Arthur.

Chi Meng stared at the storage space in his hand, his heart gently caressing the gems inlaid on it, and a faint magical fluctuation emanated from it.

"Just let me see what you have hidden."

Chi Meng whispered, then closed her eyes and concentrated, mobilizing the magic power in her body, gently surrounding the storage space. With a slight flash of light, the storage space seemed to be slowly opened by an invisible force, and a small space filled with various items appeared in front of her.

The first thing that caught my eye was a few bottles of potions of various colors, some as green as emerald green, exuding a fresh, herbal scent;

Some were as deep as the night sky, revealing a hint of mysterious light, but Chi Meng could tell at a glance that their quality was not high. Most of them were just ordinary healing potions or enhancement potions, and were not of much use to a high-level magician like her.

Then, her eyes fell on a pile of glowing monster crystal cores.

These crystal cores were of different sizes and shapes, and each contained the power and essence of the monster in its lifetime. However, even the most precious one was only a crystal core of a medium-sized monster, and was not of much value to Chi Meng.

Next to the crystal core, there were several hundred gold coins and two or three sets of slightly worn clothes scattered around.

The gold coins were covered with traces of time, and the clothes were covered with dust and sweat, which were obviously what Arthur had picked up during his journey. Chi Meng had no interest in these items, and with a simple wave of her hand, they turned into a stream of light and were stored in her own warehouse.

Finally, Chi Meng's sight fell on a knight's long sword. Although this sword was not a divine weapon, it was also well-made. The blade glowed with a cold light, and an inconspicuous gem was inlaid on the hilt, which seemed to be able to faintly sense the user's will.

However, Arthur obviously could not fully control the power of the sword, and there was still some hostility left on the sword.

"It seems that you once had a passionate heart." Chi Meng sighed lightly, then flicked her fingers, and the long sword turned into a ray of light and was put into her warehouse. Although this sword is not a rare treasure, it may come in handy at certain times.

After dealing with the items in the storage space, Chi Meng put away her thoughts and continued to devote herself to her potion preparation. However, in a corner of another world, an unexpected turn of events was quietly happening.
