Chapter 143: Breaking through the Fantasy World: Lin Xiao's Journey to Breakthrough
Lin Xiao stood alone in front of the eerie castle. The night was like a huge piece of black silk, tightly wrapping the whole world. The wind, like an evil spirit escaping from hell, whistled and roared, tearing at Lin Xiao's clothes crazily. Her hair fluttered in the wind, as if countless black snakes were twisting and struggling.
"What the hell is this place? It feels like I'm in the set of a horror movie!" Lin Xiao frowned, his lips trembled slightly, and he couldn't help muttering.
She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down, but her pounding heart was out of control. Lin Xiao bit her lip, her eyes revealed a hint of determination, and she slowly walked towards the closed door.
Just as he reached the door, the door that seemed to have been sleeping for a thousand years suddenly opened automatically with a "creaky" sound. A strong smell of decay surged out like a tide, instantly drowning Lin Xiao.
"Oh my God!" Lin Xiao screamed in fright, took several steps back, and his face turned pale in an instant.
But she quickly calmed herself down and held the sword tightly in both hands. The hilt of the sword trembled slightly because she exerted too much force.
"Never mind, let's just die!" Lin Xiao gritted his teeth, encouraged himself, and then stepped into the castle carefully.
The castle was dark, with only a few faint moonlights coming in through the shabby windows, forming strange spots of light on the ground. Lin Xiao looked around vigilantly, and every step he took was like walking on the edge of a knife, his nerves tense to the extreme.
Suddenly, a sinister laugh sounded in the empty castle. The laugh seemed to come from the abyss of Hell, carrying with it endless chill and evil.
"Who? Who is there?" Lin Xiao shouted loudly, his voice echoing in the darkness, but there was no response.
Her heartbeat suddenly accelerated, as if it was about to burst out of her throat. Dense beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, slid down her cheeks, and dripped onto the cold ground.
"Stop playing tricks here. If you have the guts, come out and face me head-on!" Lin Xiao pretended to be calm and shouted loudly, but she couldn't hide the slight trembling in her voice.
At this moment, a dark shadow passed by her from behind like a ghost, bringing with it a gust of cold wind.
Lin Xiao turned around suddenly and swung his sword towards the black shadow, but only hit empty space.
"Damn it!" Lin Xiao cursed, his eyes filled with anger and fear.
"Don't waste your energy, little girl. You can't escape from here." The strange voice sounded again, as if whispering in Lin Xiao's ear.
Lin Xiao snorted coldly and said, "I just don't believe this!"
As she spoke, she quickened her pace and walked towards the depths of the castle.
There were strange portraits hanging on the walls along the way. The characters in the portraits had empty eyes, as if they were staring at her.
"Humph, who are you trying to scare?" Lin Xiao glared at the portraits, but felt that the eyes seemed to move with her movements.
Suddenly, a huge bat swooped towards her like black lightning.
"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed and instinctively swung his sword to block.
The bat's wings collided with the sword, making a harsh sound.
The bats were repelled, but then more bats flew over from all directions, forming a black whirlwind.
Lin Xiao dodged left and right, waving the sword in her hand constantly, and her clothes were soaked with sweat.
"Damn it, why are there so many!" she cursed, gasping for breath.
Just as she was busy dealing with the bats, a huge crack suddenly appeared on the ground beneath her feet without any warning, like a gaping bloody mouth.
"Not good!" Lin Xiao exclaimed, and his body fell down instantly.
During the fall, countless thoughts flashed through Lin Xiao's mind.
"Am I going to die like this? No, I can't just give up like this!"
Just when she was almost in despair, a strong hand suddenly reached down from above.
"Catch me!" It was Mo Yu's voice.
Lin Xiao reached out and grabbed the hand without hesitation, as if he had grabbed the last straw.
Mo Yu pulled hard and pulled Lin Xiao out of the abyss.
"Why are you here?" Lin Xiao was surprised and happy, with tears in his eyes.
Mo Yu smiled slightly and said, "I was worried about you being alone, so I followed you."
The two of them didn't have time to say anything more and continued to explore this dangerous castle.
"This place is too weird, we have to be careful." Lin Xiao said in a low voice.
"Well, follow me." Mo Yu said, walking in front.
Suddenly, a low roar came from the front.
"What is this thing?" Lin Xiao's heart rose to his throat again.
I saw a huge monster slowly walking out of the darkness, its eyes flashing red light and black smoke spewing out of its mouth.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Mo Yu comforted.
Lin Xiao nodded and held the sword tightly in his hand.
The two men engaged in a thrilling life-and-death struggle with the monster...
