Chapter 122 The Truth of Memories

After getting permission, Kogoro Mori lifted the lid with difficulty.

With a creaking sound, the coffin was opened.

Inside the coffin, there lay a body that had long since turned to bones. There were no burial objects inside, only an egg placed on the chest, which, judging from its appearance, was the Egg of Memories.

Compared to the one belonging to the Suzuki Group, this egg of memory is a little bigger, and its color is not green, but golden red.

Maori Kogoro asked solemnly: "Ms. Natsumi, is this body your great-grandfather?"

Kosaka Natsumi shook her head. "I think this should be my great-grandmother. I always wondered why there was only my great-grandfather in the cemetery in Yokosuka. I think it might be because my great-grandmother was Russian, so she couldn't be buried in our family cemetery."

The clerk came over and asked seriously, "Ms. Xia Mei, although the timing may not be right, can you let me see the egg?"

Natsumi Kosaka nodded, walked forward, took out the egg and handed it to the clerk.

The clerk excitedly took the egg, first carefully observed the surface, and found a small hole at the bottom. Then he solemnly opened the eggshell, but was surprised to find that there was nothing inside.

"How is it possible? It's empty?" He couldn't help but shout, "Did someone get there first and take away the things inside?"

"What is going on?" Pu Si Qinglan was very anxious. She had been lurking for so long, was all her efforts going to be wasted?

Youya said, "This egg is originally like that. Have you heard of Russian nesting dolls?"

"Russian dolls?" Everyone was stunned.

Pu Siqinglan suddenly realized: "Is it the kind where you put a smaller doll inside a doll, layer by layer?"

Yuya nodded.

After listening to Pu Siqinglan's explanation, the clerk carefully observed the inside of the egg and said, "It is indeed possible. Look at the groove inside. If I am not mistaken, it should be used to fix another egg."

Maori Kogoro said in annoyance: "Damn it, I should have brought that egg here earlier!"

"As for the eggs, they're with me." Kidd suddenly spoke up, unpacking the travel bag he had been carrying. "I expected to need them, so I borrowed them from President Suzuki."

Yuya squinted his eyes and looked at Kidd. When did this guy get the egg? He didn't notice it at all.

Maori Kogoro frowned and approached: "You guys, you didn't take it secretly, did you?"

Kid leaned back to avoid Maori Kogoro's bad breath and laughed dryly: "Hate it, how could I do such a thing."

The clerk didn't care where the egg came from. He stretched out his hand and said, "In that case, put it on and try it out."

Kid handed him the egg.

The clerk took the eggs, compared them, and found that there were indeed several foot-like structures at the bottom of the first egg, so he pressed it into the groove of the second egg.

With a click, the two eggs were perfectly fitted together.

Maori Kogoro was somewhat surprised as expected: "It's just right."

The clerk covered the outer egg and said affirmatively: "I see, it seems that Mr. Kiichi did not make two eggs, but an egg that can be combined into one."

Pu Siqinglan's body tensed up instantly, and she stared at the egg with extremely hot eyes. She couldn't help but raise her foot forward.

However, as soon as she moved, she felt a chill on her back, as if something extremely terrifying was staring at her, and the hairs on her body stood up instantly.

"!?" Pu Si Qinglan looked around in shock, but found that everyone was staring at the egg and no one was looking at her.

What happened? Pu Siqinglan was terrified. As an internationally renowned robber, she was wanted by the international police and had killed countless people. Few people could bring her such great pressure.

Unable to determine the situation at the moment, Pu Siqinglan did not dare to act rashly and could only lie low for the time being and wait for the opportunity.

Maori Kogoro stared blankly at the intact egg of memories and said with emotion: "The diamond on it is really big, how much is it worth?"

However, Natsumi Kosaka disagrees: "It doesn't look like a diamond, it's just ordinary glass."

"Glass?" Maori Kogoro was puzzled. Why would such a priceless treasure be inlaid with glass? Wouldn't it lower its value?

Glass? Conan felt that he had grasped something and began to think seriously.

Yuya frowned slightly at Conan who was thinking hard. Hasn't he figured out the key yet? He wanted to do it himself, but Shikaobing was still by his side, so he had to protect Miyano Shiho first.

Conan carefully recalled the key information along the way, and soon, a flash of lightning flashed through his mind.

He suddenly looked towards the platform in the middle of the room, an expression that showed he was in control of everything.

Conan ran up to the clerk and shouted, "Mr. Siluofu, lend me the egg."

"What's wrong?" The clerk was a little puzzled.

"Give it to him." Youye said lightly.

The clerk was stunned for a moment, but finally handed the egg to Conan as he was told.

Conan ran towards the pillar in the middle of the room holding the egg. Just as Kid was about to follow him, he found that Mao Li Ran had already followed Conan.

"Sister Lan, focus the flashlight beam and insert it into this hole." Conan said.

Mao Lilan followed Conan's instructions without hesitation, adjusted the light and placed it in the round groove of the table.

The slot is neither too big nor too small, just enough to hold a flashlight, as if it was designed in advance.

A look of suspicion flashed across Kogoro Mouri's face. When did these two people become so in tune with each other?

Conan yelled, "Please blow out the candles."

Although the people around him were a little confused, they saw that Conan had obviously thought of something, so they did what he said.

Conan raised his hand and placed the Egg of Memory steadily just above the beam of light, then took two steps back.

The egg suddenly underwent a surprising change.

Rays of light were seen flashing from the bottom of the egg all the way up, and finally the entire egg became shiny. Soon, the two eggshells together became transparent, and one could clearly see the golden statue inside slowly floating up.

Everyone looked at this incredible scene in amazement, and couldn't help but marvel at Kiichi Kosaka's craftsmanship, who could actually create such a stunning work.

However, this was not the end. After the statue reached the highest point, it stopped. The book in the emperor's hand opened automatically, and the pages turned one by one.

Then, one could clearly see a thin ray of light coming in from the bottom of the egg, reflecting off a series of mirrors, and finally passing through the glass on the eggshell wall and shining onto the page in the emperor's hand.

Then, the light beams gathered at the top of the egg, and then suddenly exploded, turning into scattered light beams that shone on the dome.

Everyone exclaimed in surprise and looked up, and were shocked to find that when the beams of light hit the wall, they actually projected pictures.

Only then did they realize that the diamond on top of the second Egg of Memory was actually a multi-faceted magic mirror!

What an amazing skill it is to create such a magical work of art!

Some of these photos are group photos of Nicola's family, some are commemorative photos of the four daughters when they were young, and some are photos of them when they grew up...

Every photo is a memory, full of warmth.

"I didn't expect that it was really like what Yuya said, that the emperor was holding not a book but a photo album?" Kogoro Mouri sighed.

“Is this the truth of memories?”

Mao Lilan looked at the photos one by one, and suddenly found a special one. She hurriedly shouted to Kosaka Natsumi, "Ms. Natsumi, look at that photo. Are they your great-grandfather and great-grandmother?"

Natsumi Kosaka looked up and saw her great-grandfather, and the young woman next to him was undoubtedly her great-grandmother.

Natsumi Kosaka looked at the strange yet familiar face and was so moved that her eyes became moist uncontrollably.

Conan looked at the great-grandmother, his eyes sweeping across the photo of the emperor's four daughters, and he couldn't help but widen his eyes slightly.

He discovered that the great-grandmother looked exactly like one of the daughters, and also had some resemblance to Kosaka Natsumi.

Could it be that... Conan was frightened by his own thoughts, that Miss Xia Mei was actually a descendant of the royal family of the Romanov dynasty?

The nobles are beside me?!
