Chapter 106 Funeral
The raindrops fell silently on the gray stone slabs, making a dull tapping sound, as if the sky was sobbing softly.
Under the gloomy sky, a solemn atmosphere enveloped the entire venue.
A solemn and sad memorial service is being held here.
Jiang Li was wearing a black dress and standing in the crowd, looking at Lucius who was at the front.
The rain fell like a fine curtain, blurring the vision and deepening the sorrow of the funeral.
Lucius stood in the rain, his black coat was soaked by the rain, looking even heavier, raindrops slid down his robe, and his face looked even paler against the rain.
Narcissa stood beside him, watching him worriedly.
An old wizard stood there alone. He closed his eyes and began to chant an ancient spell. His voice was low and powerful, as if he was conveying their respect and thoughts to the sky.
As he chanted the spell, white flowers appeared out of thin air and slowly landed on the coffin of the deceased, as if guiding the soul to another world.
The solemn and old voice seemed particularly lonely amid the sound of rain.
"Clap."
There was a strange sound in the air.
An ominous atmosphere permeated the air, and a layer of mist seemed to condense in the air, making people shudder.
Just when everyone was yet to realize what was happening, a figure appeared silently at the edge of the cemetery, like a ghost, without any warning.
Jiang Li was the first to notice something was wrong and his pupils shrank slightly.
It's Voldemort.
This person seemed to have been condensed from nothingness. There was no sound of footsteps, no sign of breathing, and not even a trace of warmth of life.
His face was shrouded in darkness, and he wore a black robe with intricate runes embroidered on it.
His fingers were slender and pale, and every movement he made revealed an extraordinary weirdness and danger. The air around him became heavy, as if even the wind was retreating in front of him.
Everyone at the funeral felt the pressure, and their eyes turned involuntarily to the uninvited guest.
Voldemort seemed not to see these people and walked straight towards Lucius.
The moment he saw Voldemort, Lucius' heart suddenly tightened, as if it was tightly grasped by an invisible hand, but years of aristocratic education allowed him to quickly suppress his inner panic.
"I didn't expect that I couldn't even catch your father's last look."
Voldemort looked at Abraxas in the coffin, with endless regret in his voice.
Lucius lowered his head, not daring to look him in the eye, for fear of revealing his innermost emotions.
"You did a great job, kid. Your father must be very proud of you."
A deep voice sounded in front of him, and Lucius suddenly felt his mind a little confused, and began to recall his previous memories.
"boom!"
A huge collapse sound suddenly occurred.
Lucius suddenly came to his senses and saw the pillar next to him collapse.
"You have no shame in using Legilimency on a child at a funeral."
A clear voice rang out among the crowd.
Everyone subconsciously looked at Jiang Li who was holding the magic wand.
Only then did Lucius realize that he had just been possessed by a telepath. His eyes changed instantly and he took a few steps back.
Voldemort frowned as he looked at Jiang Li who had suddenly done something bad.
"who are you?"
Jiang Li smiled slightly and said, "I am your ancestor."
Hearing this, Voldemort's face instantly turned gloomy.
"Damn it!"
A dazzling green light burst out from the tip of the magic wand, like a bolt of lightning that cuts through the darkness, rushing towards Jiang Li with the breath of death.
Jiang Li dodged and fired an evil curse in the direction of Voldemort.
This change happened too quickly.
Other wizards who came to pay their respects all dodged, fearing that they would be affected accidentally.
Voldemort broke Jiang Li's evil curse, and his cold eyes stared at Jiang Li, like a poisonous snake peering from the darkness.
A beam of blue flame rose up beside Jiang Li and transformed into a blue phoenix, swooping towards Voldemort.
The standing figure immediately turned into a black mist and appeared in another direction.
"Very good, you are the first person who dares to offend me, I will remember you."
Voldemort's hoarse voice sounded, and he stared at Jiang Li coldly.
He shifted his gaze to Lucius again and said slowly: "Kid, I will come back to find you..."
Before he could finish his words, Jiang Li cast an evil curse on him, which instantly turned into flames and burned his entire body.
A cloud of black smoke rose up and disappeared into the air.
Lucius looked at this scene in disbelief.
He asked Jiang Li softly, "Is Voldemort dead?"
"No."
Jiang Li looked at the place where the black smoke disappeared, and said coldly: "It was just a puppet delivering a message, not the real person."
I thought I could fight Voldemort himself, but I didn't expect him to be so cautious.
Hearing this, Lucius's face looked a little bad.
Although Voldemort hadn't finished his words just now, it was obvious that he was going to come after him again.
"Luke."
Narcissa stepped forward and held his somewhat cold hand, looking at him worriedly.
Lucius immediately returned to normal, smiled gently at Narcissa and said, "I'm fine."
"No matter what happens, I will stand by you." Narcissa stared at him and said seriously.
Hearing this, Lucius felt warm in his heart and held Narcissa's hand tightly.
The two looked at each other tenderly, and the rain seemed to have subsided a little.
Jiang Li interrupted their affectionate gaze and threw a metal ball with complex runes on it into Lucius' arms.
"Remember to carry this thing with you."
"What is this?" Lucius asked puzzledly.
"A protective device to prevent others from reading your mind."
Jiang Li used a confusion spell to block out the surrounding sounds, looked at Lucius and explained: "If someone wants to kill you, just crush this thing."
"After crushing me, will you come to save me?" Lucius asked.
"I can't save you, so I just want you to play with me." Jiang Li said in a gentle voice.
Lucius: "..."
"I'm just kidding." Jiang Li looked at Lucius with a smile and said, "If you break it, I can sense it and will come to save you as soon as possible. But if the distance is too far and you die before I can get there, don't blame me."
Lucius couldn't laugh.
He couldn't be sure whether he would be able to live to see Jiang Li the next time he saw Voldemort.
Seeing Lucius so serious, Jiang Li comforted him, "Don't be so nervous, if it doesn't work out, you can join the Death Eaters and just stay alive.
You are so rich, Voldemort will definitely not want to kill you, and will keep you as a money bag to provide him with supplies. "
"This doesn't sound like a good thing. Isn't there a better way?" Lucius looked at Jiang Li and asked.
"You have been targeted by Voldemort for a long time. Do you think he will let you go easily?" Jiang Li looked at Lucius seriously and said, "This thing I gave you can not only prevent others from using Reflexology, but also allow them to see your fabricated memories.
If Voldemort really attacks you, you can pretend to obey him and survive first, and then you can plan other things slowly."
Looking at the pair of gray-blue eyes similar to Abraxas, Jiang Li still felt soft-hearted for a moment.
Hearing this, Lucius clenched the metal ball and lowered his eyelids, wondering what he was thinking.
The rain was getting heavier. Jiang Li picked up the umbrella that had fallen to the ground. He glanced into the distance and saw a familiar figure.
