Chapter 80: Blind Spot in the Dark

"Why did the power go out suddenly?" The old lady came back.

Shinide Tomoaki explained: "Maybe the power was tripped. It's fine now. Grandma, didn't you go back to your room?"

He noticed something was wrong with his grandmother's feet and asked quickly, "What's wrong with your feet?"

The new old lady said angrily: "I just stepped on something upstairs by accident. It was pitch black and I couldn't see it. Now my foot still hurts a little."

Tomoaki Arata quickly squatted down, took off the old lady Arata's socks, and saw a small fresh wound on the sole of her foot.

"Grandma, please sit here for a while. I'll go get some medicine and gauze." Tomoaki Shinide helped the old lady sit down.

The old lady was very relieved, but she still said coldly: "It's just a minor injury..."

Tomoaki Arata ignored him. Old lady Arata was very old, and for an elderly person, even a minor wound could turn into a fatal threat if not treated.

Tomoaki Shinide turned around and shouted outside, "Mom, can you go check on Dad? He must be very angry about the sudden power outage. I'm a little worried about his heart condition."

When Hikaru Homoto, who had just come back, saw that Yoko Aida was still on the phone, he quickly said, "Then I'll go take a look."

Yoko Shinide asked Hikaru Yasumoto to wait for her and said into the phone, "Sorry, I'll call you later."

Then the two of them trotted towards the bathroom together.

Yuya looked at the two people leaving, a hint of thought flashing in his eyes.

"what!!!"

Suddenly, two terrified screams came from the direction of the bathroom.

Everyone was shocked and ran over. They saw Dr. Shinde lying in the bathtub with his eyes wide open, not moving, in the bathroom which was still filled with mist.

"Dad!" Tomoaki Shinide hurried over and tried to help his father up, but Youya quickly stopped him.

"Don't touch it yet!"

Shinide Tomoaki looked at Yuya with confusion and anxiety.

You didn't say anything. He lowered his head, followed the wires extending from the bathtub, found the plug, and pulled it out.

"All right."

Shinide Tomoaki also understood what was happening, but now was not the time to talk nonsense. He struggled to help his father out of the bathtub, then shouted to his mother and Bao Benguang: "I will do CPR for Dad, Mom, you go get the cardiac stimulant, Xiaoguang, you go call an ambulance!"

Seeing the two standing there in fear, Niide Tomoaki shouted anxiously, "Go quickly!"

The two finally reacted and left trembling.

"I think it would be better to call the police at the same time." Before Bao Benguang ran away, Maori Kogoro said hurriedly.

Bao Benguang responded and ran away quickly to make a phone call.

Tomoaki Niide gritted his teeth and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on his father.

Yuya scanned the bathroom and finally landed on the wire. He lifted it up and found that it was a razor connected to an extension cord.

Knowing that the person was most likely beyond saving, he turned and left the bathroom, and found the main switch at the corner. Next to the main switch was the leakage protector.

When the power came back on just now, it was cut off immediately, and the circuit was restored the second time. In other words, the person was electrocuted to death at that time, right?

Yuya turned around and saw Conan following behind him.

"What are you doing?" Youya asked, raising an eyebrow.

Conan lowered his eyes and said, "You guys, are you secretly looking for clues on your own again?"

Yuya spread his hands: "Sorry, I have already solved the method of this case. Now I am just looking for evidence."

"So fast?" Conan was surprised.

"You," Yuya squatted down and rubbed Conan's head, "you should still care about Xiaolan."

Conan didn't understand: "What do you mean?"

Yuya said with a sly smile: "Didn't you notice that Xiaolan has been staring at Brother Zhiming?"

Conan's eyes widened, and he took a step back in disbelief: "You, you mean?!" He just felt it was strange, and now even Yu said so, could it be...

Yuya patted Conan's head and said, "Keep an eye on him, or your wife might run away with someone else."

Conan slapped Yuya's hand away and said angrily: "I don't believe it! Just wait, I will solve this case before you."

Looking at Conan running away, Youya shook his head and continued to walk into the restaurant.

When passing by the phone at the door, he took a closer look and then went inside.

After taking a quick look around, I found a pool of soup on the ground.

"This is..." Youya thought for a moment, "It seems that the steaming bowl was broken by Bao Benguang during the power outage?"

I searched around the kitchen but couldn't find the broken steaming bowl.

"Hidden?" Youye frowned slightly. Why should the steaming bowl be hidden?

Thinking of this, Youya walked along the corridor and finally went up to the second floor, where he found a piece of porcelain fragment at the door of a room.

"This is... the fragments of a steaming bowl, right? Why is it here?" Youye frowned.

Although he knew who the murderer was in this case, he couldn't remember some of the details clearly, which was why he came to look for evidence in person.

Yuya took out a glove from his pocket and put it on, picked up the fragment and observed it, and found some blood on it.

"There's blood? Was someone stepped on it?" Youya recalled the old lady Xinchu who had just injured her foot, and immediately understood.

"If this fragment is here..." Yuya stood up and scanned the doors of the rooms on both sides.

According to the location where the fragments fell, if I walk forward... I simulated the route in my mind while moving forward and opened one of the doors.

I looked at the room and found it was empty without the broken steaming bowl, but there was a closet.

Opening the closet door, Youya found the broken steaming bowl inside. He reached out and touched it. Even through the gloves, he could still feel the warmth coming from it.

"That's right, this is the steaming bowl that Bao Benguang broke when the power outage occurred." Youye nodded. In this way, the two people who were not in the restaurant at that time had their alibi.

"But why did she hide the broken steaming bowl?" Youya was a little confused.

He understood the doubt when he went downstairs and heard the conversation between Mouri Ran and Conan.

"When I came to use the restroom this afternoon, I saw Miss Xiaoguang break a vase. Doctor Shinde saw it and was very angry. He said he would kick her out if she made such a mistake again."

Yuya suddenly realized, so that's why, was he hiding the broken steaming bowl because he was afraid of being fired?

However, this method of maintaining capital is not very smart. The number of things like bowls and chopsticks generally does not change, and if one is missing, it will be easily discovered.

He shook his head and walked past Conan towards the bathroom.

Conan saw Yuya go back and immediately became anxious. He followed him and asked, "Have you found the evidence?"

Yuya glanced at him, bent down and rubbed Conan's head: "Just leave this case to me, you should keep an eye on your wife."

Conan blushed, lowered his eyes and looked at Yuya's back with a smile.

When I entered the bathroom, Inspector Megure and others had already arrived. They had just finished inspecting the scene and were preparing to conduct separate questioning according to the procedure.

When Inspector Megure saw Yuya, he quickly came over and asked, "Brother Kamiya, where have you been?"

Yuya whispered, "I'll go find the evidence."

"Evidence?" Inspector Megure's eyes lit up, "Could it be that you have already..."

Yuya nodded and shook his head, and whispered to Inspector Megure: "Inspector, let's follow the procedure first. There are some things I need to confirm."

Inspector Megure nodded and asked everyone to start questioning.

Tomoaki Niide noticed that Hikaru Yasumoto had been covering her arm, so he forcefully lifted up her sleeve and discovered fresh burns on it. He then went to get the burn bandaged, accompanied by a police officer.

Yuya looked at the people who came into the restaurant one by one to ask questions, and thought to himself.

After finding the evidence, Youya has completely recalled the course and methods of this case.

Just like in the original story, Yuya and Conan have the same idea.

Hikaru Yasumoto did not participate in the murder of Dr. Aishide, and the police would not hold her accountable. However, the trap was set by Yoko Aishide, but it was she who pressed the fatal switch.

Even if she will not be held accountable, this will still leave a big shadow for a girl who has had a rough life.

"Then let me borrow your method, Conan." Youya pushed his non-existent glasses, found a police officer on the side, and whispered something in his ear.

The police officer nodded and went into the restaurant to inform Inspector Megure.

After routine questioning, everyone had an alibi and could corroborate each other.

Unable to see any problem, Inspector Megure ordered his men to return, intending to close the case as an accident.

As soon as the police left, Conan came running over and said to Aikawa Yoko, "Aunt Yoko, Brother Yuya just fell down in the yard and asked to use the bathroom to take a shower."

The boy wearing a mask and sneezing from time to time popped up in Xinde Yoko's mind, and she asked with concern: "Is he okay? Do you want me to get some cold medicine? It will be troublesome if the condition gets worse."

Conan shook his head again and again: "No need, Brother Yuya said he wanted to do an experiment in the bathroom to see how Dr. Shinde got electrocuted." He looked around, "Hey, where's Inspector Megure?"

Tomoaki Niide explained, "They said that today's investigation was over for now, and they went back."

Conan shouted regretfully, "Ah? That's a pity! Brother Yuya just said that he has found out the truth of this case and asked me to inform Inspector Megure to gather everyone together and wait for him to tell me his reasoning process after he finishes taking a shower."

"The truth?" Niide Tomoaki was extremely surprised, "Did Yuya-kun really say that? My father's death was not an accident?"

Conan nodded vigorously: "Yes, he said that he would take advantage of the time to take a shower to sort out his thoughts and asked everyone to wait for a while."

Maori Kogoro made a bitter face: "That kid, doing experiments while taking a bath? Nothing will happen, right?"

Originally, Inspector Megure had left, and he thought this case was really an accident, but he didn't expect that Yuya would say it wasn't?

Doesn't that make it seem that Kogoro Mori is completely inferior to this kid?

He immediately walked out of the room in depression, took out a cigarette and started smoking, looking at the rain outside with a melancholy face.
