Chapter 63 Limitations
Feeling the warm touch of fingertips on his cheek, Snape subconsciously held his breath and looked directly into Jiang Li's eyes, his heart beating wildly uncontrollably.
"I'm angry because you always say one thing and mean another. If you care about me, you should explain it clearly. Don't use harsh words to cover up your inner feelings. If you are too stubborn, you will miss the person you like."
Jiang Li loosened his hand and looked at Snape standing in front of him. The sunlight shone obliquely on the two of them, making Jiang Li look like he was glowing.
She looked at Snape and said, "Have you had a quarrel with Lily recently?"
Snape felt a little hot.
"I didn't quarrel with her," he answered.
"But Lily thought you didn't want to be friends with her anymore." Jiang Li looked at Snape and said.
Snape was slightly stunned and thought carefully about what happened yesterday.
He didn't seem to say anything harsh to Lily.
"I don't know what's going on."
Seeing that he really didn't look like he was lying, Jiang Li raised his eyebrows and said, "Okay, I'll go ask Lily later."
The emotional state of these two children is really worrying.
Snape is like a gourd with its mouth sawed off, he can't speak at all. Look at Potter, he can even lie on the ground to make Lily happy.
Jiang Li had a hunch that Snape would suffer a broken heart again this time.
Seeing Jiang Li was about to leave, Snape immediately followed him and asked, "Will you go to the alchemy room today?"
"Yes..." Jiang Li tilted his head, looked at Snape and curled his lips slightly, "Why? You haven't seen me these few days. Do you miss me so much?"
Snape subconsciously wanted to refute, but the sarcastic words came to his lips and he swallowed them back.
"You weren't in the Potions room, so Remus didn't dare come over to help me. Don't you like him very much?"
"How sad! I thought you hadn't seen me these past few days. I missed you, too." Jiang Li looked at Snape's face and deliberately made a sad expression, "I missed you very much."
Snape's ears turned red instantly.
Looking at Jiang Li's sly smile, I knew she did it on purpose, but I couldn't say anything.
"Okay, go to class and leave the rest to me." Jiang Li said easily.
"Actually, I can handle it myself. It doesn't matter if I drop out of school. I can study at home." Snape said slowly.
Even if he doesn't study, he can still live a good life.
"I love it here."
Jiang Li leaned against the window, resting his hand on the windowsill, and looked out the window. Below was the Quidditch field, where students of the Quidditch team were training Quidditch. There were also many students outside the field watching the team members train.
There was light in everyone's eyes, a kind of life-giving light that burst out from the bones, making people unable to help but look sideways.
"I wish you were here too." Jiang Li looked at Snape and added with a half-smile, "And Lily is here too. If you don't work hard, she will be snatched away by James."
Snape said nothing.
Knowing that Lily was alive, he was already very happy and didn't need to be with Lily.
Jiang Li was in a hurry to go to class, and the two separated in the corridor.
In the afternoon, Lily found the place where Jiang Li was doing alchemy.
Looking at the somewhat sad little girl, Jiang Li asked Mia to pour him a cup of black tea.
"Ali, I feel like Xifu seems to be becoming more and more unfamiliar." Lily said in a very low voice.
Jiang Li held a cake in his hand and asked casually, "Did he do anything?"
"He used curses on other people. He seemed to like dark magic. I asked him to stay away from those Slytherin students. I could introduce my friends to him, but he seemed unhappy and asked me not to contact him in the past few days. Is Sev going to break up with me?"
As Lily spoke, she shed tears sadly, her nose was red, and she looked pitiful.
Jiang Li handed her a handkerchief and said slowly, "I know about Snape's curse. He did it to help the girl from Laura Craven. Those two boys wanted to take off the girl's clothes, and Snape was acting bravely."
Hearing this, Lily paused in her action of taking the handkerchief, her eyes widened in shock, with crystal tears hanging on her eyelashes.
She didn't think that what happened that day was far worse than she had imagined. If that was the case, then it seemed that the two boys were not wronged.
"Then I must have misunderstood Severus." Lily said, feeling guilty.
"No, I need to go apologize to Sev."
She stood up and was about to walk out.
Jiang Li grabbed her wrist and said calmly: "You don't have to go find Severus, he will be here soon, you can talk here if you have anything to say."
Hearing this, Lily sat down again.
Jiang Li propped up his chin and looked at her and said, "Do you think all Slytherin students are bad people?"
"Most of them look down on people and like the Dark Arts," Lily replied.
"As far as I know, this situation also exists in other colleges. Isn't James quite arrogant and looks down on others? There are also many other students who secretly study the dark arts. If we only judge a person based on this point, isn't it too arbitrary?
If Slytherins are as bad as you say, do you think Severus could have avoided all this by simply not interacting with them?"
Jiang Li felt a little choked by the pastry, so he poured himself a cup of tea and took a sip.
"If you really put yourself in Severus' shoes, you would understand his actions.
If he doesn't make friends with anyone, he will become the target of Slytherin bullying. The person who was hanging upside down in the corridor and spitting slugs that day was Severus.
Studying black magic is just one of the ways to become more powerful. You can't always expect to be passive and not fight back when you are in danger. It's always a good idea to learn more.
And Aurors also use some dark magic when performing their tasks, are they bad guys too?"
Lily was stunned by Jiang Li's series of questions.
She felt that her worldview was challenged. Clearly, everyone in the academy said that Slytherins were all bad people...
"Then let's take a step back." Jiang Li looked at her with a smile and said, "Tell Severus not to associate with Slytherin people, and make friends with people from other colleges.
Why can't you not make friends with people from your own house, and make friends with Slytherins, and fit in with Severus' circle of friends?"
"This is different."
"What's the difference? Aren't you both going to give up your familiar environment and friends to get in touch with each other's friends? Since you can't do it, why do you ask Severus to do what you say?"
Lily was stunned; she had never thought of that.
"Did Severus hurt you?" Jiang Li continued to ask.
Lily shook her head.
"Did he use black magic to hurt other people or do anything bad?"
Lily continued to shake her head.
"Since he didn't do anything, why are you so strict with him? It's obvious that you can't do it yourself, right?" Jiang Li looked at Lily and said slowly.
Hearing this, Lily began to reflect, thinking about every little detail of their relationship.
She suddenly realized that she seemed to have been limited by the current ideas.
Everyone said that Slytherin was a bad guy, but even though Severus had done nothing, she had already judged Snape to be a bad guy in her heart.
Xifu is more mature than her, how could he not think of this?
It seemed like she had been imagining all the time, thinking that Sever would definitely turn bad.
Jiang Li patted Lily's shoulder and said lightly: "Anyway, Severus didn't do anything to you, why do you care so much? You can't influence the dispute between the two colleges."
Hearing this, Lily suddenly understood.
Yeah, why does she think so much?
Severus was her friend, not the other Slytherins, so why did she care who Sever dated?
"Lily?"
"Evans?"
The door opened and Snape and Lupin walked in.
Both of them were a little surprised to see Lily.
When Lily saw Snape, she immediately got up from her chair, ran to his side and hugged him tightly.
"Sev, I'm sorry!"
