Chapter 61: Exploring the Fantasy World: Lin Xiao and Mo Yu’s Heart-beating Journey

Lin Xiao and Mo Yu stood side by side at the entrance of the deep and mysterious forest. The sun tried hard to penetrate the dense leaves, casting dots of light and shadow. Lin Xiao's eyes flashed with determination, and at the same time, there was a hint of expectation that was difficult to conceal. She bit her lips tightly, and her body trembled slightly. Mo Yu frowned, and his expression was so solemn that it seemed that water could drip from his face.

"Xiao'er, this forest is no joke. It is said that it contains countless creepy secrets and deadly dangers." Mo Yu said in a low voice, his eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly, as if some monster would rush out in the next second.

Lin Xiao raised her chin stubbornly, "What am I afraid of? We've been through so many ups and downs along the way. We've seen all kinds of scary scenes. This is nothing!" As she said that, she walked into the forest without hesitation, her steps carrying the spirit of a newborn calf that is not afraid of a tiger.

Mo Yu shook his head helplessly, smiled bitterly, and hurried to catch up.

As soon as I walked into the forest, the damp mist immediately hit me, like a layer of cold gauze, making me shiver. The ground was covered with thick fallen leaves, and every step made a "crunching" sound, which was particularly harsh in this silent forest. Lin Xiao moved his feet carefully, his eyes constantly looking around like radar, not missing any slight movement.

"Mo Yu, do you think some horrible monster will suddenly appear in this forest? I feel a little scared!" Lin Xiao's voice trembled with a hint of fear.

Mo Yu reached out and held her hand, squeezing it hard, trying to give her some courage and strength, "Don't be afraid, I'm here! Even if something happens, I will protect you."

Suddenly, a gloomy wind blew, and the branches made a strange "rustling" sound, as if whispering some terrible secret. Lin Xiao was frightened by the sudden sound of the wind and shivered. He grabbed Mo Yu's arm tightly, and his nails almost dug into his flesh.

"What is that?" she screamed in terror, her voice echoing through the forest and startling a flock of birds.

Mo Yu instantly entered a state of high alert, his body tense, his eyes as sharp as an eagle's as he looked around, "Be careful, something might happen!"

At this moment, a huge python jumped out from the tree like lightning, opened its bloody mouth, revealing its sharp fangs, and the fishy smell coming out of its mouth was nauseating.

"Ah!" Lin Xiao was so frightened that his face turned pale as paper in an instant, his legs went limp, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

Mo Yu drew out his sword without hesitation, a look of determination flashed in his eyes, "Xiao'er, stay away!" As he said that, he flashed and rushed towards the python.

Mo Yu's movements were as agile as the wind, his swordsmanship was extremely sharp, and every move was deadly. He shuttled through the forest and started a thrilling life-and-death struggle with the python.

Lin Xiao shouted anxiously, "Mo Yu, be careful! Be very careful!" Her heart was in her throat, her hands were clenched into fists, and her nails were deeply embedded in her palms.

After a fierce and suffocating battle, Mo Yu finally found the python's weakness and stabbed it in the vitals. The python let out a painful hiss, and its huge body fell heavily to the ground, splashing a cloud of dust.

"Huh, it's finally solved." Mo Yu gasped heavily, his clothes soaked with sweat.

Lin Xiao hurried over, his face full of concern and relief for having survived the disaster, "Mo Yu, are you okay? I was so worried!"

Mo Yu waved his hand, "I'm fine, let's keep going."

They continued to move forward, one step deep and one step shallow. After walking for an unknown amount of time, they came to a dark cave.

"This cave looks eerie. It feels like there's a man-eating monster with its mouth wide open waiting for us to go in. Should we go in or not?" Lin Xiao's voice was full of hesitation and fear. Her eyes were fixed on the cave, and her steps unconsciously stepped back.

Mo Yu pondered for a moment, then said with a firm look: "Since we are here, how can we not go in and take a look? Maybe there is something we want inside."

Lin Xiao bit her lip and finally nodded, "Okay, let's be careful then."

As they walked into the cave, a pungent smell instantly penetrated their noses. The smell was like a rotting corpse mixed with chemicals, which made people's stomachs churn. Lin Xiao couldn't help but cover his nose, "What is this smell? It's almost making me faint!"

Mo Yu used a torch to illuminate the surroundings and saw some strange symbols carved on the wall of the cave. Those symbols looked like ancient curses or mysterious codes.

"What does this mean? Why can't I understand it at all?" Lin Xiao leaned over to look curiously, his eyes wide open.

Mo Yu shook his head, "I don't know either, but I feel this is not a good sign."

Suddenly, a low and terrifying roar came from behind. The sound seemed to come from the depths of hell, making people shudder.

Lin Xiao and Mo Yu looked at each other, and a strong sense of foreboding surged in their hearts. They slowly turned around and saw a huge monster appear in front of them. The monster was covered with hard scales, its eyes flashed with strange red light, and a stream of hot flames spewed out of its mouth.

"Oh no, run!" Mo Yu shouted, pulling Lin Xiao and running desperately out of the cave.

However, the monster is so fast that it catches up in the blink of an eye. Can Lin Xiao and Mo Yu escape the monster's pursuit? What is the secret in the cave? What will be their fate?
