Chapter 56: Exchanging Notebooks (2)
Holding the notebook she usually used to record miscellaneous matters, Liliana entered the library.
Just as she was about to go to the front desk to ask where the menus were placed, she suddenly saw two familiar figures out of the corner of her eye.
Adelaide and Ella, who were in the same class, were squatting on the ground picking up books that had fallen from the bookshelf.
Because there seemed to be quite a lot of books that had fallen to the ground, Liliana felt that it would definitely take a lot of time for the two of them to put the books back on the bookshelf.
(Well, I'm not in a hurry anyway, so why not help them?)
Liliana doesn't like Adelaide and Elaje.
Because Liliana could often see that the two of them were often secretly watching Alfred.
This made her very unhappy.
But other than that, Liliana thought Adelaide and Ella were both good girls.
At least unlike the vast majority of girls from aristocratic families, these two girls were not bad-hearted and did not have any scheming intentions.
In fact, Liliana quite likes getting along with simple girls like them.
What's more, the two are among the few classmates.
Liliana finally decided to take the initiative to talk to the two people who had no time to care about other things.
"Eh? I didn't expect to meet you two in the library. What a surprise."
"Ah, is this Christiana? Good afternoon."
Adelaide looked up and replied.
"Are you packing up these books? Or I can help."
Liliana suggested.
Edward and Ella were stunned for a moment, then thanked her with some fear and trepidation.
Liliana smiled in return, then gathered her skirt, squatted down, and helped the two of them pick up the books on the floor.
Feeling that it was a bit of a hindrance on the way, she put her notebook aside.
After everything was packed up, Edward and Ellaje thanked Liliana again.
To be honest, the two of them were so polite that Liliana found it a bit difficult to deal with them.
But she was also very happy.
At least Liliana could clearly feel that the two of them were thanking her sincerely.
This is completely different from those girls who have been surrounding me, saying nice things to me and flattering me all this time.
Thinking of those people, Liliana's good mood immediately fell.
But just as they were halfway through their words of thanks, Edward and Ellaje suddenly became flustered.
At first, Liliana found it very confusing.
But following their gazes, she spotted Alfred chatting and laughing with the librarian senior...
(Why is that bastard Al so happy chatting with a strange senior schoolmate?)
Liliana stared at Alfred with resentful eyes and complained in her heart.
However, the other party was chatting happily with the senior and didn't notice Liliana's gaze at all.
After a while, Alfred seemed to be looking for another book and returned to the bookcase area.
(That bastard...)
Only after watching Alfred disappear did Liliana finally come to her senses.
At this time, Adelaide and Ella were nowhere to be seen.
"Oh, did I put the notebook here just now?"
She picked up her notebook from the ground and suddenly realized something was wrong.
However, another question soon occupied Liliana's thoughts.
(What if I run into Al later and he asks me why I came to the library? I can't tell him that I came to the library to look up recipes so that I could give him chocolates for Valentine's Day?!)
Seeing Alfred emerge from the rows of bookcases again, Liliana panicked and hid behind a bookcase nearby, grabbing the bookcase with her hands and sticking her head out.
"According to school regulations, you can only borrow a maximum of six books at a time."
"Then why didn't you tell me just now, Senior?"
Alfred didn't sound angry, but rather it sounded like he was joking with the other person.
(Al, you idiot, why are you so close to him?!)
Liliana complained in her mind.
"Hehe, Junior Al, you are so annoying. Sometimes you should just act panicked and let me tease you a little. Otherwise, it would be too boring, right?"
The senior student said this in an intimate, overly intimate tone.
(Damn it, Al, you bastard, you already have me and Rose, but you still flirt with that pretty senior. I, I will never forgive you.)
Liliana angrily retracted her head temporarily and couldn't help biting her sleeve.
"Actually, it's just like what you thought. There are ways to borrow all the books at once."
The senior student leaned close to Alfred's ear and whispered something.
“Is there anything wrong with this approach?”
"Don't worry, no one will come to check specifically, there won't be any problems."
The senior declared, puffing out her chest with pride.
Even though Liliana was far away, she could see the obvious shaking under the school uniform.
She couldn't help but lower her head and look at her chest.
Liliana subconsciously stretched out her hand and tried to compare...
(Damn, that size is definitely not comparable~! She's so big, won't she feel tired?!)
"I see. I'm going to use up one of the three opportunities I won from you, Senior, so soon."
Alfred shrugged as if he felt regretful.
"Hehe, this little thing doesn't count. If you really need my help, you can just ask me. You don't have to be polite to me."
"When the time comes, I really won't be polite."
"Hehe, I'm looking forward to it."
The senior student replied with a bright smile.
"I understand. I'll take my leave today."
"Okay~ If you have time, you can come here often to play with me. Also, I'm in the fourth grade Athena class. If you can't find me in the library, you can also find me in the fourth grade classroom."
"I've got it in mind. See you another day, Senior Louise."
"I'll look forward to it, bye~"
As Alfred walked past the rows of empty seats, Liliana hurriedly hid in the narrow aisle between the bookcases.
(What the hell? Rose and I worked so hard to prepare chocolates for Valentine's Day, but Al, that idiot, was flirting with a senior in the library.
And what about "come visit more often when you have time"? Yes, but it's not that kind of store.)
Liliana made sure Alfred had left before returning to the more open study area.
Although she was full of resentment, she did not intend to change her original plan.
Liliana walked to the front desk and greeted the senior named Louise in a somewhat unpleasant manner.
