Chapter 57 Cold War
"Do you know what that is? Just touch it."
Snape grabbed Jiang Li's hand and observed her condition carefully. Seeing that she was really not hurt by the residual soul of the Dark Lord, he couldn't help but curse.
"Has your brain been eaten by Demanla grass? I clearly told you that it was the Dark Lord's thing. You know how terrifying the Dark Lord is. Why didn't you listen to me!"
It was the first time Jiang Li saw Snape so angry, and he was stunned.
"I'm not afraid of him. Am I fine?" she said in a relaxed tone.
Seeing that she didn't take his words to heart at all, Snape became even angrier and felt a lump in his chest.
He turned around and left the Room of Requests, not wanting to stay in the same space with Jiang Li.
Looking at the angry Snape, Jiang Li chased after him.
She came close to Snape, tilted her head and looked at him jokingly, "Are you angry? It's just a small matter, is it necessary to be so angry? Do you still want to go to the Forbidden Forest with me to collect."
Snape glanced at her with a hint of anger and said sarcastically, "No, I dare not put my life on the reckless Miss Malfoy. You should do these stupid things yourself!"
After he finished speaking, he strode away, not giving Jiang Li any chance to catch up.
Jiang Li stopped, looked at his back, and lowered her head to brush off the dust on her skirt.
Tsk, who doesn’t have a temper?
For the next period of time, Snape did not come to see Jiang Li. When they met in school, he had a cold face and did not speak.
Jiang Li did not take the initiative to come forward and talk.
There's nothing wrong with her brain. She doesn't have to put her warm face on other people's cold butt.
It just so happens that she needs to study the dark magic of curses during this period of time. If Snape doesn't come, she can concentrate on staying in the restricted books area.
Jiang Li spends her days shuttling between the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and the restricted books section of the library, constantly absorbing knowledge, which makes her feel fulfilled.
Seeing that Jiang Li completely ignored him, Snape felt even worse and everything seemed to be unsatisfactory to him.
People around him felt like they were living in dire straits because of his indiscriminate spraying of venom.
Lily felt it the most.
She felt that Snape was a little scary recently. Although Snape usually had a stern face, he was easy to get along with and did not give people a sense of oppression.
Although Snape now looks no different from before, he exudes a low pressure aura and one can feel his irritability when talking to him.
This bothered her greatly.
"James, have you noticed that the slug hasn't spoken to Professor Malfoy recently? Have they had a falling out?"
Lily heard this while eating at the long table and subconsciously pricked up her ears.
"It seems to be true." James slapped the table excitedly, his face full of joy, "Professor Malfoy should have done this a long time ago. That annoying slug is not worthy of Professor Malfoy's special care at all."
James still likes Jiang Li's class very much. After all, no professor is as interesting as her, and she won't deliberately deduct points if they are caught out at night.
That's right, they were caught by Jiang Li when they were using the invisibility cloak to swim at night a few days ago, but Jiang Li just told them to go back quickly and not be discovered by Filch.
James felt that Jiang Li was much better than Professor McGonagall and was the most tolerant professor.
He was halfway through his speech when he noticed Lily eavesdropping. He immediately cleared his throat and said loudly, "After all, that slug is so annoying. It's normal that Professor Malfoy doesn't like him. I think no one should make friends with him, especially us Gryffindor students."
When Lily heard this, she immediately looked at James unhappily and said, "Snape is not a slug!"
"What? Lily is eavesdropping on me."
James covered his mouth exaggeratedly, looking at Lily with a smile that he thought was charming, "You really pay attention to me."
"Pfft..."
Sirius next to him couldn't help laughing, he put his hand on his chin and looked at the two of them.
Lily's face turned red at his arrogant words, and she glared at James in shame and annoyance.
"Who would pay attention to an egomaniac like you? I hate people like you the most. People like you are not worthy of being Snape's friend."
"I don't like him, why should I be friends with him?"
James hated the fact that Lily mentioned that annoying guy, so he looked at her and said frankly, "It's you I like, not him."
Suddenly a straight ball hit her and Lily's mind went blank for a moment.
"I...I don't like you."
Lily bit her lip shyly and said this, then left in a hurry.
Seeing this, Sirius poked James' arm and said, "She rejected your confession. Do you need me to comfort you with love?"
"roll roll roll."
James pushed Sirius away with some disgust, but soon regained his confidence, shook his messy hair and said, "She doesn't dislike me, she's just shy."
Some girls are very reserved and will not easily agree when a boy confesses his love to them for the first time.
You have to know that when his father was pursuing his mother, it took him eighteen confessions before his mother agreed to marry his father.
"No, I think she might really not like you."
Sirius thought his friend was a little too confident.
"I don't believe it. How could there be any girl who doesn't love me when I'm such a handsome guy? Lily must be fascinated by me and just doesn't want to admit it." James said confidently.
Sirius: “…”
Isn't this confidence a bit excessive?
Lily probably guessed the reason for Snape's recent mood.
While in the library, she finally caught up with Jiang Li who was about to read a book on dark magic.
"Ali, can I talk to you for a few words?" Lily looked at Jiang Li and said.
"of course can."
Seeing that Madam Pince was watching them, Jiang Li simply walked out with Lily, casting a silencing spell to prevent others from hearing their conversation while asking questions.
"What do you find me for?"
"Have you had a fight with Sev recently?" Lily asked.
"No, he should be the one who is unilaterally in the cold war with me." Jiang Li said slowly.
"He has been very unhappy recently and has a blank expression on his face all day. I am a little worried about him."
Lily showed a distressed expression on her face, "Ali, can you go and comfort him?"
Jiang Li rubbed his sore eyes and said, "I understand. When you go back, tell Snape that I won't be going to the potion room recently. Let him make potions there without worry. I won't disturb him.
I have paid Lupin for a month, and Lupin will help him deal with the potions, so he doesn't have to worry about no one dealing with the materials."
"...Is this okay?" Lily asked uncertainly.
Jiang Li shrugged his shoulders and said, "He's angry and doesn't want to see me. If I show up in front of him, he'll probably get even angrier."
"Ok."
Although she felt that these were not what Snape wanted to hear, Lily still hoped that Snape would be in a better mood.
Otherwise, walking next to Sif would be really stressful.
