Chapter 53 Missed Call
Wen Baijing's kiss was so fierce that she felt difficulty breathing. The oxygen was so thin that she felt chest tightness and suffocation.
They were like two embracing fireballs, blazingly hot, with heat waves rolling in.
"Zhenzhen, have you ever thought about me?"
Wen Baijing was moved and whispered in her ear. His voice was low and magnetic, and every word was like a blazing flame.
The warm breath brushed across her skin, and a tingling sensation spread throughout her body. Her lips couldn't help but tremble slightly.
"Okay, I won't tease you anymore. Take care of your health!"
The lingering scene came to an abrupt end. Wen Baijing turned over and lay on the bed, trying hard to suppress the unspeakable impulse.
The fire was raging but was put out by the heavy rain that fell from the sky, leaving behind a few wisps of white smoke that rose unwillingly.
Ye Zhenzhen's breathing gradually calmed down, and her heartbeat also became stable. She turned sideways, propped her head on her elbow, and looked at Wen Baijing gently.
"One evening, I was at Phoenix Lake and I smelled your scent. For a moment, I thought you were nearby, so I stopped and looked for you for a long time." Ye Zhenzhen sighed softly and said in a depressed mood, "But I didn't find you. Maybe I was hallucinating."
The feeling of loss from that day came back with a vengeance, filling the air around me. The bitter taste, like bitter almonds eaten by mistake, lingered for a long time.
Wen Baijing pulled her hand over and kissed the back of her hand, their fingers tightly intertwined.
"One day, I heard someone calling your name in the coffee shop. I turned around and realized it wasn't you." Wen Baijing pulled her over and hugged her in his arms, "It's okay."
Fortunately, they are still with each other at this moment. Fortunately, the longing is so deafening that they finally heard it. Fortunately, the longing is fulfilled.
Ye Zhenzhen's eyes were filled with inexplicable sadness. When she was with Wen Baijing, she was always so fragile that she couldn't help but cry out of hypocrisy.
Her reason was inexplicably defeated by her emotions. Wen Baijing was her cardiotonic and hallucinogen, which allowed her to rekindle hope and beauty, and also made her heart beat fast and she was almost in ecstasy.
It is both an antidote and a poison, but she can't live without it.
Ye Zhenzhen said softly in his arms: "I have never regretted meeting you, not in the past, not now, and not in the future."
Wen Baijing said nothing, smiled bitterly, and hugged her tighter.
The phone rang suddenly, and she didn't answer it. The ringing sounded over and over again.
The ambiguous and sweet atmosphere was broken, and they both looked at Ye Zhenzhen's phone at the same time.
She struggled to push Wen Baijing away and tried to take a look at the screen.
Wen Baijing glanced at the remarked name: Lin Luoyu.
He couldn't help but frowned, his expression a little serious. He let go of the struggling person in his arms, glanced at Ye Zhenzhen with sharp eyes, stood up and walked towards the door.
Ye Zhenzhen got up, picked up her phone and looked at it carefully, her heart suddenly sank. She knew that Wen Baijing must be angry.
Picking up the phone, she was dazed and didn't answer it. It was too ambiguous to answer another man's call so late.
In the living room, Wen Baijing lit a cigarette, raised his hand and took a deep puff. The exhaled smoke enveloped him heavily, isolating him from the spacious living room.
The smoke between his teeth gave off an inexplicable bitterness that spread along the root of his tongue.
Ye Zhenzhen put down her phone and walked to the living room in slippers. The strong smell of smoke made her cough uncontrollably. She was choked by the smoke and her lungs felt like they were pierced by a steel needle.
She covered her mouth and nose, half bent down, and came to Wen Baijing with difficulty.
She gently pulled Wen Baijing's sleeve, ready to show weakness and ask for forgiveness.
Wen Baijing ignored her show of weakness, casually raised his hand to avoid her, and then turned his body to the other side with his back to her.
Wen Baijing was very angry and smoked continuously. The smoke spread everywhere and obscured his expression.
Ye Zhenzhen squatted down because of the choking, coughing heart-wrenchingly. She didn't know how to comfort Wen Baijing for a moment, and she didn't want to let him smoke to death.
Ye Zhenzhen forced herself to stand up and grab Wen Baijing's cigarette.
"Just stop smoking, okay?"
The smoke brought big tears to her eyes, which were bloodshot.
Wen Baijing was startled when he saw this, but he couldn't bear it anymore. He helped her up, and said in a light tone with a hint of coldness, "Go to bed early! Don't you have to go to work tomorrow?"
Ye Zhenzhen covered her chest and held her breath, her voice a little hoarse, "We are really fine, can you believe me?"
"Go to sleep! Leave me alone for a while." Wen Baijing was unmoved and was not prepared to listen to her explanation.
"I don't want to! I won't sleep if you don't listen to my explanation!" Ye Zhenzhen's stubborn temper came up again. She didn't want Wen Baijing to misunderstand.
"You should go to bed early." Wen Baijing was a little impatient. He smelled of cigarettes and tried to reply calmly.
"Can you please believe me?" Ye Zhenzhen held his hand and looked at him aggrievedly, as if tears would burst out in the next second.
"Can you please leave me alone?" Wen Baijing looked serious, and the coldness in his voice became even more pronounced.
Ye Zhenzhen asked weakly: "Can you please not be angry..."
Wen Baijing pushed her away and stared at her without blinking, as if he wanted to scan her heart and try to see through her.
"Ye Zhenzhen, you said there's nothing going on between you two? Nothing is going on for you to go to the movies with him? Nothing is going on for you to prefer to see him instead of me?"
Wen Baijing's voice was as cold as ice, and the chill gradually grew stronger, causing Ye Zhenzhen to shudder. His tone was extremely harsh, and his words instantly turned into a sharp sword, piercing straight into Ye Zhenzhen's heart. The tense and oppressive feeling was like a huge wave, making it impossible to breathe.
"I didn't...I didn't..." Ye Zhenzhen choked as she defended herself, repeating incoherently, feeling so aggrieved that she couldn't say anything.
"No? He didn't call you so late?"
Wen Baijing asked aggressively, and then he suddenly lay down on the sofa, raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to relieve his irritability.
Ye Zhenzhen suddenly didn't know how to explain. She was speechless. He never trusted her. Ye Zhenzhen's heart was filled with flying catkins, blocking her heart and throat, making her feel suffocated.
A missed call broke all the beauty.
The moonlight is as cold as frost, cooling down the ground.
The autumn wind blew the dead branches, startled the jackdaws perched on the branches, and the endless bird calls cut through the night. In the reed marshes beside Phoenix Lake, reed catkins were flying all over the sky.
Ye Zhenzhen staggered to her feet and walked slowly towards the bedroom. Suddenly, her vision went dark, and she felt dizzy and her body was unsteady.
The dizziness and vertigo made her limbs weak.
"Zhenzhen..." Wen Baijing rushed over and hugged her in his arms.
Wen Baijing carried her back to the bedroom and laid her back on the bed, her dizziness gradually fading away.
"Are you okay?" Wen Baijing's tone was calm. Ye Zhenzhen could see that he was a little worried, and she also understood that he was still angry.
"Yeah." Ye Zhenzhen held his hand and didn't dare to let go, "Don't be angry, okay?"
Wen Baijing broke free, considerately covered her with a blanket, and said calmly, "Go to sleep! I'll go to the study."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wen Baijing stood up and walked out.
Ye Zhenzhen threw back the quilt, and without even having time to put on her slippers, she rushed over barefoot, hugged his waist, and pressed her face against his back.
"Please don't leave, okay..."
