Chapter 38: Fantasy World: A Life and Death Adventure in the Ruins
The setting sun was like blood, dyeing the sky of the Fantasy World into a shocking red, as if God had accidentally spilled a bucket of blood. Lin Xiao and Mo Yu stood side by side at the entrance of the ancient ruins. The howling wind swept over, making their clothes rustle, as if it was going to drag them into endless darkness.
Lin Xiao tightly grasped the weapon in her hand, which flashed a cold light in the afterglow of the setting sun. Her eyes revealed determination and vigilance, but her slightly trembling hands still exposed her inner tension and fear. She looked at the deep entrance of the ruins, and her voice trembled like a leaf in the wind: "Mo Yu, this place looks terribly gloomy. My heart is about to jump out of my throat. I feel that there are countless demons and monsters hiding in it, and they can rush out at any time to eat us alive."
Mo Yu patted her shoulder gently, his eyes were gentle and firm, as if they could melt all the fear in the world. His voice was steady and powerful, like a magic needle that stabilizes the sea: "Xiao'er, don't be afraid, I'm here. Now that we have come this far, there is no reason to retreat. Even if it is a dragon's den or a tiger's lair, we have to go in!"
The two carefully stepped into the ruins, and a stale and decayed smell hit them in the face. It was like an ancient tomb that had not been opened for thousands of years, mixed with the smell of death and mystery. A faint and strange light flickered on the wall, as if ancient runes were beating, telling unknown secrets.
"The pattern on this wall is so strange. It feels like it's hiding some shocking secret." Lin Xiao moved closer to the wall, eyes wide open, trying to decipher some clues from those strange symbols.
Mo Yu was always on high alert, his eyes scanning every corner around him like a sharp sword, his ears erect, paying attention to even the slightest movement: "Be careful, Xiao'er, don't take it lightly. This place is very dangerous, and danger may arise at any time."
Suddenly, a low roar like thunder sounded in the darkness. The sound kept echoing in the empty ruins, making people's eardrums buzz and making people feel creepy, as if the devil from the depths of hell was roaring.
"Oh no, there's something!" Mo Yu instantly protected Lin Xiao behind him. His movements were as fast as lightning. The sword in his hand was unsheathed with a "swish". The sword body flashed with cold light, like a silver lightning.
A huge monster as big as a mountain slowly walked out of the shadows. Its body was so huge that it was suffocating, and every step made the ground tremble slightly. Its eyes flashed with blood-red fierce light, and its sharp fangs were like huge daggers, flashing a chilling cold light.
Lin Xiao took a deep breath and his voice changed: "Oh my god, what kind of monster is this! It feels scarier than the monsters in Hollywood blockbusters!"
Mo Yu gritted his teeth, his eyes burning with fighting spirit. He shouted, "Don't be afraid, Xiao'er! Let me take care of it!" As he said that, he rushed towards the monster like an arrow.
For a moment, sword shadows and the monster's claws intertwined, and Mo Yu's posture was agile, like a hero in a martial arts movie, leaping and dodging, and every movement was clean and neat, full of power and beauty.
"Mo Yu, be careful!" Lin Xiao shouted anxiously, her heart in her throat, her hands clenched into fists, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
Mo Yu's forehead was covered with beads of sweat, which kept sliding down his cheeks, but his eyes remained firm, and he had no intention of retreating. His clothes were torn in several places during the fight with the monster, revealing the scratched skin underneath, and the blood stained his clothes red.
Just as Mo Yu was gradually gaining the upper hand, there was a sudden violent tremor in the ruins, the ground began to crack, and large and small stones fell from the top of the head, as if the end of the world had come.
"What's going on? Is it an earthquake?" Lin Xiao almost fell down. She looked around in panic, trying to find a safe corner.
Mo Yu took the opportunity to deal a fatal blow to the monster and repelled it. But at this time, the surrounding environment became more dangerous, with huge rocks constantly falling from the top of his head, raising a cloud of dust.
"Xiao'er, run!" Mo Yu pulled Lin Xiao up and ran desperately towards the exit.
However, the exit slowly closed before their eyes, like a ruthless beast closing its mouth.
"It's over, I can't get out now!" Lin Xiao's face turned pale, and her eyes were filled with despair and fear.
Mo Yu observed the surroundings and comforted her, "Don't panic, Xiao'er, there must be another way out. We can't just give up like this!"
Just then, they discovered a stone door hidden in the corner. The door was engraved with complex and mysterious patterns, as if it was the door to another world.
"This may be our chance of survival." Mo Yu said, walking forward and trying to push open the stone door.
But the stone gate did not move at all, as if it was sealed by a mysterious force.
"What should we do? Are we going to be trapped here?" Lin Xiao's voice was tearful, with tears welling up in her eyes.
Mo Yu pondered for a moment, then said with a firm look: "Xiao'er, let's push together. I don't believe we can't open this door!"
The two worked together, gritted their teeth, and pushed the stone door with all their strength. Finally, the stone door was pushed open to a narrow gap.
However, just as they were about to enter, a mysterious voice sounded in their ears: "Go in, you will face greater danger, but you may also find a way to leave. Life or death depends on your choice."
Lin Xiao and Mo Yu looked at each other, their eyes full of hesitation and struggle.
"Mo Yu, what should we do?" Lin Xiao asked in a trembling voice.
Mo Yu took a deep breath and said, "Xiao'er, wealth and honor come in danger. We have no way out. We can only go in and give it a try!"
After saying that, the two of them resolutely walked into the stone gate. The world behind the door is full of unknowns and dangers. Can they find a way out smoothly? Or will they fall into a deeper desperate situation?
