Chapter 18 Is Killing One Enough?

The moment he saw the doorknob turn, Snape felt his heart skip a beat.

The door slowly opened, and a muscular, bearded, fierce-looking man appeared behind it.

The man still had the burger in his hand. He looked down and saw Snape. He asked in a muffled voice, "Kid, what can I do for you?"

It seemed that if he didn't explain the reason, a huge fist would fall on his head in the next second.

Snape had not expected such a scene at all, and quickly said, "Hello, I'm looking for Lily Evans. Is she home?"

"You've come to the wrong place. There's no one named Lily here." the strong man replied.

"Dad, the cartoon is about to start, come and watch it with me!"

A little blonde doll-like girl ran over and grabbed the man's hand.

The man who had just faced Snape with a fierce look on his face immediately changed his expression when he saw his daughter coming over, and coaxed her in a pinched voice: "Okay, baby, Daddy will go to watch cartoons with you right away."

Having said that, the man closed the door.

Snape was a little confused.

Why isn't Lily here? Her home is clearly here.

He wandered around for a long time but didn't see any familiar figures.

Why wasn't he here? He felt panic rising in his heart that things were out of control.

In the living room, the flames in the fireplace jumped, and Jiang Li threw a piece of wood directly into it.

I don’t know what kind of wood this is. It has a lot of powder and it smells very nice when it burns. The air is filled with this woody scent.

Jiang Li read books for the whole day and wrote down several high-level magic circles. He planned to modify them slightly and use them in alchemy.

The smell of food came from the kitchen; Mia was cooking.

Jiang Li glanced at the sky outside which had already darkened, wondering whether he should go pick up Snape. The snow seemed to be getting heavier.

After all, Snape has 38 years of life memory, so he should know how to find a place to hide when it snows.

Jiang Li thought about it and glanced towards the kitchen. Seeing that Mia had not yet finished cooking, he walked directly to the entrance, picked up the umbrella from the bucket, shook the umbrella to open it, raised the umbrella above his head, and his figure disappeared in the entrance.

It was pitch black outside and several street lights were broken. No one came to repair them. Jiang Li heard the sound of snow falling on the umbrella.

She twirled the umbrella handle and shook off the snowflakes on the umbrella.

Spider's Tail Alley was very quiet. Jiang Li saw Irene's figure outside the window. He tapped the ground lightly with the tip of his umbrella, feeling a little confused.

She thought Snape would come looking for Irene.

Jiang Li put his hand on his chin and thought for a while. He remembered that he might be able to track by blood. After all, Snape still had his blood flowing in his body.

Jiang Li waved his wand and chanted a mysterious spell. A thread-like light appeared at the tip of the wand and pointed in a direction, which was where Snape was.

Following the instructions, Jiang Li arrived at the abandoned amusement park.

She suddenly remembered that she seemed to have seen this place in Snape's memory.

But what about people?

Why aren't you here?

Looking at the snow-white playground, Jiang Li began to doubt whether he had given the wrong instructions. Why didn't he see Snape?

Jiang Li waved his magic wand, and a soft light shot out from the tip of the wand.

As she spoke, she slowly walked over with the thread-like light and saw Snape sitting under a tree, his face almost unrecognizable because of the snow.

If you don't look carefully, you won't even notice there is another one here.

Jiang Li was so angry that he laughed. He stepped forward and brushed off the snowflakes on Snape. He asked angrily, "Since you are here, why don't you say anything?"

Snape's hollow eyes rolled and he looked at Jiang Li. He said in a low voice, "Lily is no longer in this world. She won't forgive me for what I said."

"..."

Jiang Li was somewhat speechless. He looked at the sad Snape and said, "When was the first time you met Lily in your previous life? Was it at this time?"

Hearing this, Snape's brain, which had been frozen stiff, finally reacted.

"I met Lily when I was nine years old in my previous life."

"That's it. Didn't you come here often before? If she lives nearby now, then you must have seen her before you were nine years old. The reason you didn't see her is definitely because she moved here when you were nine years old. Isn't it normal that you haven't met her now?"

Jiang Li analyzed seriously.

Snape's originally dull eyes gradually became brighter.

Yeah, why didn't he think of that.

Seeing that he was in high spirits, Jiang Li deliberately teased him, "Why is Mr. Snape still sitting in the snow? Do you want to make a few more bottles of cold potion for yourself?"

Snape was not angry, but relaxed. He looked at the girl's beautiful blue eyes and said, "Thank you for coming out to find me."

Hearing this, Jiang Li stretched out his hand towards Snape and said helplessly: "Hold my hand, I will Apparate you back."

Snape placed his purple, frozen hand in Jiang Li's warm palm.

Jiang Li held his hand and used Apparition directly.

In an instant he was back home, feeling the warm air, Jiang Li felt relaxed all over.

It’s really more comfortable to stay at home on snowy days.

She lowered her eyes to glance at Snape, whose face was frozen purple, and said slowly: "No matter what happens, you shouldn't abuse your body. If you don't even love yourself, why do you expect others to love you?"

Snape's face was a little stiff. He felt that Jiang Li was just talking without any hesitation, and his voice contained a hint of sarcasm.

"Not everyone is as lucky as Miss Malfoy, who grew up in love and can be herself easily and freely. You should put away your moralizing attitude."

As soon as these words were spoken, the air became quiet.

Just when Snape was wondering whether Jiang Li was going to curse him, he saw Jiang Li smile, but the smile did not reach his eyes.

"You are wrong. I am an unlucky person. Everyone who loves me will become unfortunate. They all died in front of me. So I don't need others to love me. It is enough for me to love myself."

Jiang Li looked relaxed, but his light blue eyes were dull, just like the quiet deep sea, hiding endless darkness.

Snape could sense the heaviness behind these words, and for a moment he regretted what he had just said.

He moved his lips, but in the end he couldn't say anything to comfort him.

"Are you hungry?"

Jiang Li changed the subject and looked at Snape's face, which showed a heavy and complicated expression that was not in line with his age. He simply pinched his face and rubbed it hard.

Snape looked at Jiang Li in shock.

How dare this person do this to his face.

Jiang Li smiled at him gently and said, "Maybe your past life was not ideal, but now I am here. You can do what you think is right, and I can help you."

Snape's throat was choked and he looked at Jiang Li helplessly.

Just when Jiang Li thought he would not answer him and was about to go eat, Snape's childish and dull voice came from behind him.

"If I want to kill someone, will you help me?"

Hearing this, Jiang Li turned his head to look at Snape and asked, "Is killing only one enough?"
