Chapter 7 The disappearing gift

Jiang Li still looked at the man with an indifferent expression and said, "I'm not interested in getting to know you, get out of here."

Seeing Jiang Li about to cast a curse, Redmond said quickly, "I have no ill intentions. I am planning to go to the tavern for a drink. Perhaps you can tell me where the tavern is?"

Jiang Li stared at him with cold eyes, which made him start to sweat. He then slowly put away his wand, pointed in a direction and said, "There is a tavern in that alley."

After saying this, she was no longer in the mood to take a walk and Apparated directly back to her residence.

Redmond looked at the disappearing figure, wiped his face, and walked towards the alley with lingering fear.

This woman is so scary. She really wanted to kill him just now.

Redmond remembered where he came from and hurried into the alley. Many shops were closed, but a small, shabby bar at the end of the alley was still open.

He walked into the bar with some disgust. The lights in the bar were dim, and there were a few drunkards in tattered clothes sitting at the bar. It seemed that he was not in the mood to drink.

"Red? Why are you here?"

When a man in ragged clothes saw him, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes and he shouted to stop him.

Only then did Redmond notice that this was his old acquaintance Andy Bell.

"Why are you here?" Redmond asked in surprise, "I remember you had good grades when you were in Hogwarts. How come you are... so miserable?"

He glanced at Andy's attire and used a euphemism.

"Oh, come on. I know you want to say I'm poor, but I dressed like this on purpose. In fact, I just completed a deal and got a lot of gold galleons." Andy shook the drink in the glass and said proudly, "But you, why did you come to this shabby bar to drink?"

"Stop talking now. I just saw a beautiful chick and wanted to kidnap her for some fun, but she turned out to be a wizard and she almost killed me."

Redmond asked the bartender to serve him a glass of whiskey and complained about what had just happened.

"Your lustful nature hasn't changed at all. Sooner or later you'll die in a woman's belly." Andy sneered.

"Don't mention this. Tell me what you have been doing recently. Do you have any profitable business?" Redmond asked curiously.

"You know, there are always some Mudbloods with excellent magical talents in the Muggle world, and some people spend a lot of money to buy these Mudbloods." Andy poured a glass of wine into his mouth and said dizzily, "You know, I sold it for a thousand Galleons last time, and the Muggle money is 4,940 pounds, which is enough for me to squander for a long time."

"Are those children so valuable? But if the Ministry of Magic finds out about this, they will be locked up in Azkaban." Redmond said with some concern.

"What's so scary about this? Those children are not children of pure-blood wizards. They are born in Muggle families. In the Muggle world, they will be regarded as monsters. Those mudbloods can't control their magic and make things fly around. Stupid Muggles will only think that those are the actions of the devil. As long as you spend a thousand pounds, they will obediently send their children to your door. You have no idea how happy they are. Besides, the Ministry of Magic doesn't know the existence of those children, so they can't investigate me at all."

Andy took a sip of wine with satisfaction, his eyes showing undisguised pride.

Redmond was very interested and said flatteringly, "Good brother, I wonder if you are still short of manpower. I am a little short of money recently, maybe I can help you."

"It's great to have your help. The investigation has been getting stricter recently. I'm waiting for you to help me. Otherwise, I wouldn't tell you about this." Andy laughed and patted his shoulder.

Redmond was delighted and asked the bartender to bring a few bottles of good wine, intending to have a good drink.

There was a drunk man lying on the table next to the bar, listening to their conversation silently, with huge waves in his heart.

He thought about his current impoverished life and felt that it was all caused by the monster at home. If he could get a thousand pounds by selling the little monster...

Tobias took a swig of his drink and walked towards the two men.

Jiang Li teleported to the door of his house and saw a small figure curled up under the street light. He thought it looked familiar, so he walked over to take a look.

The boy was leaning against the lamppost, sleeping soundly with his knees hugged. Snow had fallen on his clothes on his shoulders, and he was still wearing a thin set of clothes.

Seeing this, Jiang Li frowned slightly, took off his scarf and put it around the boy's neck.

As soon as the fingertips touched the cheek, Snape woke up instantly and looked at the other person vigilantly. When he found out it was Jiang Li, he immediately relaxed.

"You're back. I've been looking for you here for a long time but I haven't seen your house."

Jiang Li put the scarf around his neck and remembered that he had set up a magic circle. Without her permission, no one could see her house.

"I have set up a magic circle around the house. I will record your breath into it later. When you come over, you will be able to see my yard."

Jiang Li touched his cheek tenderly, looking at the boy with soft blue eyes.

"It's very late now. Do you want to stay here for one night and go home tomorrow?"

"No, I didn't tell Irene that I was going to stay out all night. She would be worried about me."

As Snape spoke, he rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a handful of dried flowers. He stared at them intently, and magic power surged in his palm. The shriveled flowers immediately came back to life and bloomed, looking gorgeous and tempting.

He handed the flowers to Jiang Li and said shyly, "This is a return gift for Christmas, A-Li."

Jiang Li took the flower from him with care and smelled its scent. It was very fragrant and it was obvious that he had put a lot of effort into it.

"Thank you, Xifu." Jiang Li said with a smile.

Seeing that Jiang Li liked his gift so much, Snape was also very happy, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but rise.

"You can if you like. I'll go first."

After saying this, Snape ran towards Spinner's End.

But after just a few steps, he ran back, took off his scarf, and said a little embarrassedly: "Ali, this is your scarf."

"You wear it first. It's not too late to return it to me next time you see me. I'm really looking forward to making potions with you." Jiang Li winked at him playfully.

Snape couldn't help showing joy on his face. He smiled brightly at Jiang Li and said, "Okay, I'll return the scarf to you next time I come back!"

Seeing that it would be too troublesome for him to go back alone, Jiang Li directly took his hand and said, "I'll take you back."

After saying this, she teleported directly to Spider's Tail Alley.

Snape, who was standing next to her, looked pale and about to vomit. Jiang Li asked with concern, "Are you okay?"

"I'm very good!"

Snape suppressed the overwhelming feeling and answered calmly.

"Goodbye then."

Jiang Li waved at him and teleported back.

Snape waved in the direction she left, with the corners of his mouth raised but not falling.

He turned around, opened the door and went into the house. He was even happier when he saw Tobias was not at home.

As long as Tobias wasn't at home, Irene was normal.

He ran into his room excitedly, took off the scarf from around his neck, and folded it carefully. He planned to put the scarf together with the new clothes Jiang Li gave him, and return the scarf to Jiang Li the next time he met him.

As he opened the cabinet door, the smile on Snape's face disappeared.

The clothes placed here are gone!

Snape searched the cabinets anxiously, wondering if he had remembered the location wrong. He searched all the cabinets and even under the bed.

No! Still no! Why did the things disappear?

Climbing out from under the bed, Snape's black hair was covered with cobwebs and his face was covered with dust. Suddenly, a not-so-good possibility emerged in his mind.

He ran out of the room and asked Irene anxiously, "Mom, did Tobias go to my room today?"
