Chapter 4 A last-ditch battle

Zhao Cheng subconsciously waved his sword twice to confirm that he did have a dagger in his hand. Then he quickly closed his eyes and skillfully turned on his inner vision. Above his Qi Sea, the huge Madam Xu was still there, but now she looked more like a phantom, completely without the previous sense of substance.

A sharp aura spread from Madam Xu to Zhao Cheng, rushing from his palm along the meridians all the way to his whole body. Even though he had been beaten for a few days and had long been accustomed to all kinds of pain that ordinary people could not bear, the pain brought by the sharp blade passing through his meridians still made Zhao Cheng scream.

"what!!!!"

Zhao Cheng knelt on the ground and bit the handle of Madam Xu's knife in his mouth to prevent himself from biting off his tongue due to the severe pain.

The pain of being cut into pieces came and went quickly. After a few breaths, the pain receded like a tide, leaving only the nerve stress that made Zhao Cheng still kneel in the water and shiver.

After three or four minutes, Zhao Cheng finally made it through. Then he stood up, a little confused.

My injuries seemed to have healed a lot. A sharp spiritual power emanated from my dantian, traveling along the meridians of my body, and returning. This cycle repeated over and over again.

If Zhao Cheng knew more about the power system of this world, he would know that this was a typical feature of a cultivator. In other words, his destroyed snow mountain had been rebuilt at this moment, but in the form of a slender dagger.

Some of his strength returned, and he could walk normally. He even had an illusion that if he looked back now, he might be able to sneak into the battle outside.

Of course, this was definitely an illusion. Even if Zhao Cheng had ten times the courage, he would not dare to look back. Moreover, he was wasted three to five minutes in the same place. Before that, he had vaguely heard the sound of someone falling.

It's too late to escape

A few minutes ago, the second man in black completely broke the steel partition and fell into the secret passage, but before he could jump in to catch the person, the swordsman's sword flashed to him.

Although the two men behind him were not as powerful as himself, they were guests of the palace after all, so how could their skills be that bad? If he hadn't used his hidden sword to trick the monk, he would have been defeated by now.

Hei Yi didn't dare to turn his back to the two men, but looking at the dark hole on the bed, he didn't know how long Zhao Cheng had escaped, and he was extremely anxious. After all, with the Jade Rat's means, if he really abandoned his nest and wanted to hide, there would be few people in this huge Dongdu who could find him.

The black-clothed man hesitated, and the swordsman had already pounced on him. After he shouted, the Taoist immediately waved his peach wood sword in the rain and chanted something. The swordsman didn't care and entangled with the black-clothed man tightly. Even though he was hit by several palms in a few breaths, he still only attacked and did not defend. He was really brave.

However, bravery can't last long. Being brave and daring also depends on strength. The man in black was tired of being entangled, and was afraid that Zhao Cheng would escape. Finally, he stopped looking ahead and behind and decided to fight to the death to solve his worries, and then go back to chase the Jade Rat slowly. After all, the Jade Rat's Qi Sea in the Snow Mountain was destroyed, and he couldn't escape far.

After more than a dozen moves, the swordsman spat out a mouthful of blood and half-knelt on the ground. The three of them had a slight advantage together. How could he get away with it alone? It was already a stretch to be able to hold out for more than a dozen moves.

"Ox Nose! Are you still not well?" The swordsman couldn't bear it anymore, and even his curses were much weaker.

"Alright, alright! Monster, take my thunderbolt!" The Taoist raised his peach wood sword, which was covered with talismans without knowing when. Lightning flashed in the wind and rain, and purple thunder exploded in the sky, falling from the sky onto the peach wood sword.

Two points of fire lit up under the black cloak, as if they were his pupils. The Taoist priest was a little dazed and lost in thought when his pupils glared at him. He turned around and jumped towards the secret passage under the bed.

"Damn it! The bull nose is showing off his power! How can you escape?" The swordsman cursed loudly and threw away his sword and rushed forward.

Hei Yi had never expected that this guest official of the palace would be such a fearless person. He was so shocked that he was hugged by him and missed the first bit of time he had bought with his secret method.

"Ox Nose! Wake up! Chop me!"

The Taoist was startled, his face full of astonishment. As a cultivator, he was actually confused for so long by someone's gaze. If it was a one-on-one fight, this moment alone would be enough to kill him several times.

Listening to the swordsman's desperate words, the Taoist gritted his teeth, not caring about accidentally hurting his friends, and pointed the wooden sword fiercely. A bolt of lightning as thick as his arm whistled towards him. This was the strongest killing move he could use.

The man in black reacted quickly. He knew that even if he killed the swordsman by force, he would not be able to get rid of his body. So he used all his strength to perform footwork and dragged the swordsman into the secret passage. However, he was a moment too late.

The thunderbolt struck the swordsman and the man in black along the secret passage. The two men fell straight down with black smoke coming out of their mouths. The Taoist priest hurriedly flew down, took out a pill from his arms and stuffed it into the mouth of the swordsman who didn't know whether he was dead or alive. He used his internal energy to make it melt into his stomach.

The Taoist priest then looked at the dark passage and hesitated for a moment, thinking of the man in black's unpredictable movements and palm techniques, and finally did not dare to chase him.

In the winding corridor, a few hundred meters away from the entrance of the Jade Rat Secret Passage, there was a movement in the shadows, and a figure in black slowly appeared, and then a mouthful of blood and broken organs spurted out.

The Yin-Hun technique he practiced was naturally restrained by the Thunder Technique. He dared not touch even a small Five-Thunder Array on a door lock. At this moment, he was hit by half of the Longhu Mountain Lightning Technique. If he had not twisted his body at the end to let the swordsman block a little more, he would have died on the spot.

"Jade Rat, Jade Rat! Why don't you follow me obediently and avoid the pain of having your soul extracted? Don't let me catch you, you can't run away."

The man in black staggered, but still walked forward firmly. As long as he was not going to die for the time being, he could find a few mortals to absorb their souls once he got out of the secret passage and save his life. However, his power was probably greatly reduced, and he would not be able to explore the inner world again for a few years.

Zhao Cheng recalled the approximate distance he had walked, and tried hard to recall the memory fragments of the Jade Rat in his mind. Finally, he took a deep breath, took off his tattered coat and floated on the water. Then he held his breath and slowly lay on his back in the water.

Brother Yushu, I only had time to learn the basics of your turtle breathing technique. I hope your spirit in heaven will bless me and allow me to hold my breath for a little longer so that I can avenge you.

The sound of rushing water, heavy footsteps and even heavier breathing were getting closer and closer. Hei Yi felt that he was about to die. He didn't know how far this damn secret passage was. It didn't matter if he couldn't catch the Jade Rat for the time being. He felt that it was more important to go out and replenish his energy.

Suddenly, Hei Yi's eyes lit up. In the darkness, something was floating on the water. It looked like a dead body.

"Good boy, let me find you easily. Don't die. I have eighteen tricks waiting for you."

The man in black sneered and walked forward, reaching out to grab the "corpse" on the water. Even if he was seriously injured, he would not be on guard against a defeated general who was also seriously injured and whose Xueshan Qihai was destroyed.

The clothes were fished out, but it was just a piece of clothes. The pupils of the man in black shrank, and he quickly turned around and slapped out with his palm. The stone wall of the secret passage was shaken, and there was nothing in front of him.

A chill came from his heart. The man in black bowed his head with difficulty. A thin sword blade pierced through his back. The extremely sharp sword didn't even bring out a trace of blood, but he felt that his life and even his soul were rapidly dissipating.

"You've been fooled, you bastard." Zhao Cheng, who was dripping with water behind him, held Madam Xu's handle with both hands and nailed it to the back of the black-clothed man.

He originally wanted to throw his robe in front of him to lure the enemy, and then hide behind him to attack, but he immediately remembered that when Jade Rat first met Black Clothes, he attacked from behind Black Clothes but was discovered.

Will this make the man in black develop a psychological dependence on me, and subconsciously think that I will still attack him from behind?

So Zhao Cheng made a decision that went against the Jade Rat, and hid under the outer robe. When the man in black subconsciously turned around to fight back, he actually attacked from behind.

If you play well, the sky will be high and the clouds will be vast. If you play badly, you will have to be careful in your next life.

Fortunately, he won

The man in black wanted to turn back, but Madam Xu, who had passed through his chest, had some kind of magical power that quickly consumed his remaining strength. In the end, this master who was only one step away from the inner vision, this master who defeated three guests from the royal palace on his own, could not even utter a single harsh word, and the fire of life was extinguished sadly.

The corpse slowly fell down, and Madam Xu took advantage of the situation to pull it out. Zhao Cheng stared blankly at the black clothes in the water, and it quietly turned into a piece of light and was sucked into Madam Xu. Then Madam Xu also turned into light and sank into her palm. The spiritual power around her body was actually gathered, hidden in the meridians and flowing slowly. Even though the inner scene was here, it was impossible to see the fluctuation of his spiritual power.

Madam Xu is good at hiding. If she doesn't move, it's fine. But if she moves, it's like thunder. If she is hit, she will die. Even the kings and nobles cannot escape.

A living person was stabbed by Madam Xu, and only a black robe was left. This weird scene made him forget to finish off the opponent.

A minute later, Zhao Cheng suddenly turned back and bent over, vomiting violently. This was the first time in his two lives that he killed someone. Even if it was for self-protection, it was not something a young man entering society could bear.

Fortunately, no one else caught up with us.

In the secret passage, Zhao Cheng wrapped himself in his tattered robe, holding a black cloak and a small brocade bag in his hands, and stumbled in the water. After an unknown amount of time, a flash of light flashed before his eyes.

It was night outside, and the ray of light was the lightning in the rainstorm.

Zhao Cheng, facing the torrential rain and thunder, with tattered clothes, stood by the bank of the Luo River with his arms outstretched and howling to the sky.

"Damn, it's like The Shawshank Redemption," Zhao Cheng looked at the lights of the players in the rain.

"Jade Rat, we won"
