236 Bathroom and Condensation
After returning to the auditorium, the three of them happened to bump into the Prewett brothers who were hurriedly walking out, followed by the rest of the actors.
"Why are you here now?"
A third grader dressed as a zombie told them, "The play is canceled. There was an accident at school, on the fourth floor."
Karan winked at Snape and Lily respectively, asking them to act more naturally.
When they arrived on the fourth floor again, people were already crowding around the trophy display room. Filch stared at the motionless Mrs. Norris in horror.
For some reason, Professor Kettleburn also arrived early. He was squatting down and carefully examining the strangeness on Mrs. Norris.
The Prewett brothers crossed the crowd. The younger brother Prewett frowned and stared at the writing on the wall. The older brother Gideon walked to Professor Kettleburn.
"How could this happen?" he asked.
Professor Kettleburn glanced at him and ignored him.
Karan stared at them silently, and then looked around again.
There was not a trace of water on the floor, which was completely different from the scene he remembered when the basilisk first appeared. In addition to the two lines of writing on the wall - Myrtle is not dead, so the diary as a Horcrux will not appear.
So who did all this?
"Were Professors Prewett always in the auditorium?"
Karan suddenly asked the zombie actor beside him.
Snape and Lily looked at him immediately, and they both realized why Callan asked this question - he was doubting Professor Prewett.
"Yes."
"Zombie"'s answer was somewhat unexpected: "They wanted us to rehearse again, but unfortunately we didn't expect this to happen."
"Now, the Halloween dinner is totally screwed up."
The three of them looked at each other silently, and it seemed that Professor Prewett was not suspicious.
At this moment, Dumbledore arrived on the scene, followed by many other teachers.
"Follow me, Argus," he said to Filch, and nodded to Professor Kettleburn. The Prewett brothers followed them immediately.
When Callan turned around again, he saw Principal Dumbledore glance at him inadvertently, but he soon realized that the person Dumbledore was looking at was not him, but Lily, who looked hesitant.
"This is not what we do." Karan whispered: "We can't provide any help, and it will only make us suspicious in vain."
Lily did not catch up in the end, while Snape stared at the writing on the wall in a daze. Many Slytherin students behaved similarly to him, and some even whispered maliciously.
The rest of the professors took them to the dinner, and even though the theatrical performance was sadly cancelled, the muttering in the auditorium never stopped.
"I heard Mrs. Norris was killed?"
Steve, who had just rushed over from the dormitory, asked with some horror: "Did what happened to Larry last semester happen again in the castle?"
Karan quickly dismissed his suspicion.
"These two things are completely different," he said.
"I saw with my own eyes the injuries on Mrs. Loris's body. It was in a very serious state of petrification and required advanced black magic to achieve it."
Steve felt a little relieved now, but he still kept mumbling something about not letting Wolf escape.
Gaspard just raised his head and glanced at them lightly, without showing any interest in this matter.
He is currently busy thinking about magic fire. Floo powder gave him a good reference idea, and he plans to make similar powder to give the bluebell flame more powerful power.
Karan was sipping strawberry pudding, wondering what he was thinking about.
The banquet ended amidst discussion, without the festive atmosphere of previous years at all, and Principal Dumbledore did not return to the auditorium until the end.
After returning to Hufflepuff's dormitory, Karan lay on the bed and hesitated for a long time.He listened to the peaceful breathing of Steve and Gaspard, and finally took out the invisibility cloak and sneaked out of the dormitory.
The castle was very quiet at night, and Karan walked quietly down the dark corridor.
Since trying to draw the Marauder's Map, he was much more familiar with the castle than he was last semester, but there were still some special places that he had never been to this semester.
For example, the Room of Requirement.
And the once-abandoned girls' bathroom on the second floor.
It didn't take long for Karan to arrive at the door of the bathroom.
He pushed open the door and walked in.
There was no myrtle in it, nor any annoying ghostly presence.
Karan knew that during the last semester, Meadows led the group of snake descendants to clean all the abandoned rooms in the castle, including this bathroom.
But even so, few people would use it, and now a thin layer of dust has fallen inside.
And when he came to this bathroom in person, Karan finally understood the reason.
In the corner of the bathroom, where there should have been a row of clean pools, what appeared instead were clusters of violently trembling fragments, floating in the air, condensing and then slowly dispersing.
While repeating this process, the fragments continued to make dull sounds, which were almost inaudible, but exuded an extremely heavy sense of depression.
This was a scene that had never happened before, and Karan could not find any corresponding reference in his memory.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, and after observing carefully for a long time, he began to try to find something else - the copper faucet with a small snake engraved on it.
This is the key to opening the secret chamber, and the entrance can only be opened by using Parseltongue.
But after searching silently for a while, Karan found that the faucet did not appear in the intact pool, except in the condensation.
But the wall behind this condensation has been damaged a lot and has not been repaired yet. Only large pieces of earth and rocks are exposed inside, and there is no sign of any water pipes.
Karan even secretly used a few cutting spells and disintegrating spells to try to cut through the wall.
But in the end he reluctantly gave up.
The water pipe connecting to the secret room still did not appear, and even the earth and rocks that were cut out floated again, and then returned to the ferocious wall.
This small area seems to be fixed in a certain period of time, which will automatically recover and cannot be changed.
Karan frowned deeply.
Finally, he left the bathroom silently.
The entrance to the secret room has changed, it is no longer here.
Karan even had some doubts as to whether a basilisk really existed.
At the same time, a strange idea suddenly appeared in his mind.
The real change would not be just Voldemort.
Is there still Salazar Slytherin?
